If you search YT " NEW DRUID SPELL ANIMATIONS - WoW The War Within 11.2" you will find a video showing spells such as regrowth, rejuvenation and tranquility all with butterfly animations added to them.
The butterflies are blue and yellow and the spells summon 3-4 of these insects. I really hope there are glyphs to opt out of the butterflies.
The trading post already caused a lot of upset folks with how much butterfly merch there was on it, but now to just straight up have resto druids with butterflies in their cast animations seems a bit… ehh…

Butterflies themselves are pretty, but having a way to opt out of the new animations would be nice. Even if it was birds instead of butterflies, having an option to go back to just leaves and colors would be nice.

I think they should focus on giving Demon Hunters improved animations before adding even more animations on a class saturated with unique animations.
I don’t know how the trading post builds your case.
I’m looking forward to some new animations. I’ve been jealous of the Holy Priest music notes for a long time. And, are there that many healing druids out there? Not enough to upset people, I don’t think.
Blizzard is extremely, extremely, extremely bad at giving players the option to opt out of new animations via glyphs.
All I’m saying is good luck asking them and then waiting 5 - 10 years because that’s about how long it takes.
But, I dont know, this is Druid… so maybe they’ll get around to it faster. Druids 100% get more love than other classes do.
resto and boomie are the only ones that get love. the class tree is still designed with resto in mind
Druids already have glyphs for things like lifebloom to add a flower. Maybe in the future we’ll just have a spell animation selection in the barber shop along with forms or something.

What kind of nature loving hippy would play a druid, don’t they know druids are only reserved for furries, and furries don’t like bugs.
Agreed. While I love butterflies and whatnot… they need to allow the choice of the older effects.

So I watched the video.
Lifebloom: it’s fine. No butterflies, just upgraded leaves and flower bloom. That’s fine.
Regrowth: too many butterflies.
Rejuv: they removed the longer animation swirly, which I highly dislike. It’s too short now.
Swiftmend: doesn’t look much different to me.
Wild Growth: why is it less roots animation and more butterflies? I love the roots animation. I want more of that.
Tranquility: this I’m most upset about. It was more of an Astral spell for Elune’s tranquility. Now, it’s a bunch of glowy green butterflies.

Thematically this would be better if the butterflies were different based on race. Drust wisps? Butterflies? Dragonflies? Ravens? Yes! All of these would be great for different druid races.

The rejuv animation doesn’t even match the sound effect anymore. That needs to be fixed.
