I think the stonefangs should be the racial forms for Dracthyr if and when they get druids because they’re very draconic looking.
Forms for Tree form would be great too.

I’d love a faerie dragon flight form.
A snake form too, but I’m not sure if it would make sense with how Feral works. But ground travel form might be it.

It’s crazy to me how the dev team can design 100’s new NPCs, dozens of zones, 100’s of armor sets and 1,000’s new open world objects, but they can’t add tier/xpac/lore themed shapeshifts.
Still waiting on cevenant+maw themed shapeshifts.
I can’t believe they botched it. It was such an easy win for them.
They need to apply current boom’s barbershop template to all forms and actually spend 1 week developing it and add in 100’s of cosmetic elements.
Imagine getting playerhousing before we get proper druid customization.

I think your suggestions automatically make possible for Blood Elf Druids, with the phoenix and the lynx.
Generally, I hold, the more – the better. This is an MMO after all, and customization is key to facilitating player agency.
I’m thinking back to the Nightborne sabers and botanists, there were even shapeshifting NPC’s iirc. Indeed, like others have said in this thread; this is something that could have, and should have been done earlier and more often. We could have gotten Dracthyr Druids – imagine that, Half Elf and/or Draconic Druids on both factions. A huge missed opportunity I hope is corrected sooner rather than later.

Blood Elves, to me, have the strongest case of getting access to the class.
The story about Blood Elf druids in Midnight could be that a few Farstriders (the Blood Elf sect most connected to nature) spent time in the Cenarion Circle to understand Druidism, and they return to Quel’thalas in hopes of reviving the Ghostlands and the Dead Scar.
There’s literally a very direct and precise justification for it, without having to rely on the one single case of a Botanist Blood Elf NPC in a Burning Crusade dungeon. And makes even more sense knowing that Quel’thalas will be a big focus for Midnight, and would be really odd to not see the Scourge aftermatch finally dealt with in it.

I absolutely love this idea, and the lore does indeed support it with good potential as you pointed out. It’s safe to say that both from their popularity as a WoW species but also given their Tolkienian resemblance, the High Elves will remain a popular race. I’m personally happy to see Quel’Thalas revisited in Midnight, and I think that giving Blood Elves the option to play as Druids would be very fitting. I could well see myself playing a Blood Elf Druid. I love the whole vibe.
One of the most popular classes in the game spends most of its time with it’s armor not visible, and Bliz still pumps all that work into new armor sets for them instead of a tier form…
The customizable “owl” form seems to make it clear though that they’re working on ways to tweak our forms (similar to warlock pets and dragon riding mounts). Once they get that in place, I’m hoping they will use that system to give us new transmog sets for our forms with new tiers. And maybe a new base skeleton with new expansions.
There are so many skeletons in the game that could be repurposed, then brought to exciting new life with drragon-riding like embellishments and customizations. Looking forward to it.

I would just really like more colors of the dream owl for flight form.
My Dream is a faerie dragon flight form or moonkin form.
