Well, getting the devine accuracy glyph is a must with holy fire glyph. then there is the borrowed time buff where u use a bubble, pendance , cast time spell of your choice “most the time prayer of healing”. you can mix in renew in the bubble and pendance windows. haveing a rollover macros or healbot is wonderful for healers so you can save a click.
I struggled with disc healing until I figured out atonement healing is supreme for mana management and even big heals if you spec right and use the associated cd for it. But truthfully it also felt like one of those specs that just LOVES gear lol… I think the best advice anyone could give you (outside of the proper bits of advice haha) is to stick with it. Ignore the as… errr… the jerks, and just press on. You’re going to get kicked from groups if you try to go straight into heroics, so either go in as shadow or just be ready for the rude remarks and all the kick =\
But lean on the community. As for new tanks to tank your groups. You’ll make some valuable friends along the way, too =)
