as of latest update the desktop app now only stores the last 6months worth of conversations. hope you didnt have any important conversations you were hoping to save. because with last update they just got deleted.

Wait, that’s a thing? I honestly wouldn’t care if they deleted after like 48 hours 
some of us have friends on this app.

I have friends, I just don’t save conversations. On my cell phone once I am done texting someone I just perma-delete my conversations 
ETA: Because the images and such take up space on my phone and I don’t like stuff taking up space…I have like 85/100GB free still lol
Excellent. More personal data deleted is always a good thing. If I want to save it, I’ll save it when it happens.

Damn, that means if I’m ever involved with drama between me and former friends, I will have fewer screenshots to dig up.
I mean… Just because they hide it from you doesn’t mean it’s gone. This is a for-profit company we’re talking about here.
Or I guess “sold” for that matter. Eh.
I’m the same way once I’m done talking I delete the messages but there’s a lot of people who keep texts and messages for YEARS open and going. My wife is that way it’s funny because to some people deleting messages is “sketchy” behavior but I just don’t see what keeping old messages benefits.
I have scrolled the guild chat back a few pages, this is about the extent of my archiving anything.
I dont even know how to view old chats on the main window.
