I’m well aware there is discontent and dislike from a fair number of Belf fans, as a few people in this thread have been very vocal about their dislike and saying other sites have had dislike about it, so I’m taking your word for it.

I don’t think this is the issue.
People have been asking for new things for Blood Elves, but all Blizzard seems to want to give Blood Elves lately is more body jewelry.
This dress is why we need to be able to hide pants. This dress also needs to be moggable year round >_>

I agree that jewelry, even 3D jewelry shouldn’t be all there is for Blood Elf customization. More hairstyles plus scars, tattoos, makeup, and the Darkfallen options need to be added too!
It’s sad because a lot of BE players are speaking up, and it’s being turned into “that’s just this thread” meanwhile discord’s, in game, Twitter, all disagree I’m sure some people like our customizations I like the jewelry but it’s lackluster.
It just feels disingenuous to try downplay BE players feelings on the customizations.
Not this incident but sort of looks like it’s echoed a bit on the forums imo. It feels a bit sad speaking up for BEs rn the way people try to paint it otherwise.

People asked for blue eyes for Blood Elves. I remember reading that one for a good long while.
Its not lackluster. It’s very good, in my opinion. The problem is it’s the icing on the cake, but there’s no cake! Frosting is great, but you put it on the cake! Or at least I hope one would.

I mean in terms of other options, besides just eye color. Eye color is happening largely across the board, so it’s not all that specific to Blood Elves in terms of updates.
Some people did ask for jewelry, but it’s annoying that it’s all that’s been given besides eyes at this point.
Some scars or tattoos would go a long way.
That is a good assessment the jewelry is extra trivial, the substance of people’s asks aren’t there and when they’ve gone out of their way to make NEs like the box art it just feels off to me.

I think the jewelry options are AWESOME but the lack of body paint/tattoos and other stuff just makes them look rather plain compared to a fully decked out Orc or Troll now. Body tats are just so awesome…
Belfs need scars and tats 100%.

I have a crazy conspiracy theory for this one, actually.
What if tattoos/scars aren’t coming for Blood Elves right now, because they’re going to come when Void Elves get updated? When Allied Races were originally being worked on and released, and people asked if older races would get new customization, the answer was no, but Blood Elves got gold eyes at the time. Now, we have a bit of a reverse with new customization for core races, we’ve been told Allied Races aren’t getting anything right now, but Void Elves are getting new skin tones.
So, what if when Void Elves are worked on, that’s when more Blood Elf stuff is added? It really feels like, when they work on one of these two races, they work on both at the same time. I won’t be surprised if Void Elves get void themed jewelry options, along with scars and tattoos, and at the same time Blood Elves get scars and tattoos as well.
Looking at those eyes makes me think that Velf should also get the purple look with pupils (the one that Vereesa has in Alpha currently!)
I doubt that’s the case because scheduling. That and we’re third class citizens that Blizzard doesn’t like.
Would it surprise you to know I’m indifferent on that detail, personally I much rather NE Paladins.
I’m after the Wayfarer confirmed lore, but I suppose it’s not entirely necessary at the moment and with BEs being my favorite race that wayfarer lore is taking a backseat atm it’s not my main concern anymore for now.

An interesting idea anyways, sort of giving the blue skin tones to BEs with a different storyline to not be VEs. I don’t dislike it. But I hope they do the long requested asks that the customizations are supposed to entail.
