Did they ever explain disc priests? Probably not since everyone seems to forget priests exist anyway.
My point really wasn’t even to make a case for Void paladins or anything like that, it was just to point out how they didn’t care about lore and still haven’t bothered to explain something that’s already in the game. Why would you put something in the game so lorebreaking to force your players to believe it’s noncanon? They didn’t put any effort into Lightforged or Void Elves and I don’t understand why everyone is trying so hard to make a case for them when more effort was put into High Elves who still aren’t even fricken playable. My main hope will forever be to just take the fricken void away as a main theme. Make the void elves a subgroup of High Elves akin to the Farstriders and Blood Knights for the Blood Elves. But what about you? You think Void Elves are fine? You think having little to no lore and no incoming lore is fine?
I mean tbqh what can you actually do with this race? What is the potential? What other classes tie in with void? They were completely ignored this entire patch when the focus was strictly on the void. Whytf should we assume they will get attention when the focus is off of it?
The eye color and skin tone announcement was the most attention we’ve seen towards them since they’ve been released. We want more options, we don’t want to be restricted to a class theme.
No need to remind me, as I was on Garrosh’s side even up to and including Nagrand.
If you’re talking about the beginning of BFA with the War of thorns and followup events, then I disagree. The horde making that move was something even Saurfang saw as a sensible strategic decision, as the Alliance returned to their hostilities against the Horde directly after Varian’s death (unprovoked assault on the Horde and the Warchief’s flagship in Stormheim was prime evidence to this).
The way I see it, Sylvanas and the Horde only acted in retaliation by invading the Dark shore, what events that followed were simply the result of that war. Also Saurfang really only was butthurt about certain “dishonorable” decisions during these battles (such as the tree, and blight use), rather than him being against the war itself.
I personally don’t care about Quel’Thalas from the High Elf POV. There’s already other interesting ideas when it comes to giving them a “Capitol” to call home. There’s probably more but just some of my ideas are:
Thalassian Quarter in Stormwind (Maybe in that area behind the Mage District)
Have Dalaran become the official capitol of the High Elven race (If there were to be some world revamp/time skip after shadowlands i’d love to see it placed back in Hillsbrad too.) Plus it would be nice to see it stop flip flopping allegiances every other expansion. A lot of Alliance players hate their stuff being neutral and a lot of Horde players don’t like following an Alliance Magi group when they have their own.
Quel’Danil Lodge. Could be revamped to be a bigger town
Theramore Isle. They could rebuild that into their own city state. Or land an Alliance Dalaran there.
They could have a district in the (hopefully) New Night Elf city
There’s probably some other areas but regardless, i think the High Elves can and should move beyond Quel’Thalas.
Hmmm I strongly dislike Saurfang and I failed to realize he too was lost to Horde members. That is an interesting outlook as well.
But yeah they could have gone so many different ways they left Sylvanas as a Horde hero, even if not completely liked or trusted by some still her popularity still mostly intact.
Not only redeemed, but she also got to be a full on Mary sue for how many expansions now? Nobody minded THAT of course, meanwhile any Horde character that ever got close to half her level of absurd bs for even a short period of time, gets crucified by everybody, sometimes even by Horde players themselves, up until they’re completely and utterly removed/destroyed (see Thrall after Cata).
It also makes no sense to me how she is somehow portrayed as more powerful than Thalyssra? Like what? I know she’s powerful … but like Thalyssra… like how, what, where, and why is Jaina shown like that powerful? Because idk maybe it’s just my opinion but Thalyssra should be more powerful than Jaina?
Don’t be silly now, we all know that 10.000 years of experience and mastery of the Arcane energy/magic is insignificant of an advantage over hUmAn p0tEntiAl.
I didn’t like the retcon of “all her actions after the Frozen Throne were based on her partnership with the Jalor” either, that is biggest problem for many fans of the her character.
I’ve never enjoyed the character. I feel bad for her fans though, some anyway. But as a nelf fan it’s going to feel bad if she has any sort of a redemption or anything other than a horrific rest of eternity.
