Being a half elf doesn’t really make a difference.
There’s also this one. Can’t really see clearly.

Hey look, it’s my namesake!
But dark/gritty/gothic themes can be pretty and elegant. Case in point:

I’m not saying there aren’t people who would be interested in these themes, but let’s not say that most people want those themes on Blood elves, because that’s quite frankly untrue.
Let’s also not speak for “most” people when frankly we have no clue as to what “most” people like or want, nor any business deciding for them.
I’m not saying you want only light themes, but trying to paint one side as “pushing” dark themes on you just so their side can be “the holy and pure” elves is not only disingenuous but patently ridiculous. The Darkfallen theme is a highly popular one among Horde players if we look back at years of requests, and it can be just as “pretty and elegant” as the current Blood Elf themes we have.
How do we know the Darkfallen theme is actually highly popular? Only a small portion of the players come to the forums.
How do we know if the Wildhammer is popular?
How do we know if the Sandfury is popular?
There is nothing wrong with giving customization options to help round out different thematics that are part of a race.
Darkfallen customisation is part of the Forsaken race, not the blood elf one.
We don’t. That’s the point.
Blizzard might have sent out questionnaires but that’s the only way anyone with know for sure.
They arent because the Forsaken are undead humans. Thats the issue, and why they need to be attributed to the blood elves.
Its gameplay mechanics vs. story.
The dude said to not speak for everyone then in the same post spoke for everyone horde.
No I didn’t. I specifically said:
The Darkfallen theme is a highly popular one among Horde players
I did not say “all” Horde players. “Among Horde players” could be as little as two and still be factually correct, and there’s certainly been more than two people asking for them. It has been a consistent request for years, even before the customization bonanza. If you want me to go back through years of forums pages to find various examples of Horde players asking for this option I will be more than happy to oblige you.
That’s not really evidence of something being “highly popular”.
Isn’t it though? If a feature is requested time and and again over the course of a decade+ it certainly seems like it would have some measure of popularity to me. Maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think so looking at the forums.
You didn’t say “some Horde players.” You said “Horde players,” which linguistically implies all.
Just because there’s a big thread on the forums doesn’t mean it’s actually popular with everyone who plays Horde.
People have been requesting Horde be removed as a playable faction since classic.
That doesn’t really speak to its popularity.
And requesting Blood Elves be removed.
You can think it implies what you like. I did not say “all” and I was not speaking for “all”. I said specifically “Among Horde players” that doesn’t “linguistically” imply all, quite the opposite infact.
If you weren’t speaking for all you would have said some.
No I said “among”. As in “among the many Horde players, there is a consistent request for this feature”. Stop being pedantic over my word choice.
There are many people I can think of that actually abhor the idea but are too nice to say so in a megathread.
When you say
Then you say in the same post
You’re being a hypocrite.
