That isn’t a fallacy when the authority knows what they are talking about.
When it is a fallacy is when someone says

I do have that screenshot of him. Should I?
People bring it up all the time?
Nope. It’s not.
It certainly applies to a difference in the amount of work something would take.
Also, just because I’ve stated my profession doesn’t mean I haven’t done anything with 3d modeling.
Let’s get together sometime with some Trolls and a Night Elf and a potion of giant strength I guess.
i was complaining about lady issues and cant even remember now the word i used, but apparently its real bad to say these days, even if it didnt have anything to do with that originally. its inherited meaning it didnt have once upon a time. evidence that i’m old and not up to speed on current taboos
I’ve never understood the widespread belief that arguments from authority aren’t valid.
Anyone who’s gone past year 8 at school knows how quickly they’ll get hammered if they don’t provide any references from authoritative sources.
The pause?
I mean, honestly, half this argument is just me trying to point out how absurd this counter argument is.
Rhetorically it’s insane.
Anyways. Time to change the subject. This conversation is pointless anyways.
How are they ‘clearly’ different?
Telling you that the dev’s word is law and that you’re free to question it but unless you worked on it at all, your questioning has no merit against the word of the dev.
All you had to do to avoid this was simply say. “I’m wrong in this case because I can’t actually prove that I’m right.” and move on.
Physical therapists are not qualified to talk about 3d modeling.
Just as a doctor isn’t qualified to talk about chemistry.
Wait, wait, wait. So what you meant when you said “measured” was “eyeballed”? Not even dodgy builders think those two are interchangable.
Not all of us care over making the DK skins available in general. But I´ll admit I´d feel extremely salty if we get the welfare “jewerly” that basically screams “superficial airhead” over more sensible customization options like scars or runic tatoos. Those at least talk about a generalized change in culture and perspective very proper for Belves.
Arguments from authority can be valid.
Just because something is an appeal to authority doesn’t make it invalid.
The issue with this argument is that if the whole premise of the argument is questioning that authority, then it doesn’t make any sense to say, “But they’re the authority.”
Has Callistus actually provided the exact measurements for his evidence that is the femurs? Or did he just say that he measured them and it was evidence?
No. =P I was just conversing with Tarrok. Considering how antagonistic the group I’m debating is towards me let’s not pretend like there is any point in me going into it.
It also states that you didn’t actually work on these models yourself and therefor have no authority to say what they actually are.
You know I support this customizations.
And I never felt protective of the model, right now currently I’m just making sure BEs are well treated because I think it’s an unfair situation. I’ve always just been protective of BE lore like when people push or feel ownership of Quel’thalas, some people even think BEs the majority population are a mistake and should have been “a villain” faction forced to be in Outland / Illidari and it should have been HEs playable LOL. That’s what I take issue with.
Anyways that being said and me supporting the customization changes, I think it’s so silly to say there is no similarity? Feels disingenuous. The model mock ups are nice, but not some situation where they don’t look like BEs that seems idk … false.
Sad, I don’t have trust 3 back.
