Because they have blue eyes and cool toned hair in non-belf styles, and Belfs have warm toned eyes and summery-warm toned hairstyles in Belf hairstyles…
None of those images look like Belfs at all. Same model, yes, but the bright blue eyes and cool-toned, muted hair colors in non-Belf hairstyles make them look like version of High Elfs.
Idk maybe it’s easy for me to see the clear difference as an artist/character designer.
Me thinking they look easily distinguishable is not being disingenuous. As someone who does art for a living my entire life, color theory and using colors to show character is a big thing for me and I’ve always associated Blood Elfs with warm, summery colors. All of the mockups Somand did have very cool, muted, almost muddy colors. They are very distinguishable as “High Elfs” in my eyes.

The void elf customizations are great 
I can’t wait to play as a High Elf. Though, the blood elf customizations are lacking in comparison. Some blue eyes and pieces of jewelry that will be hidden by most of our other gear? Really?
