If Navi is too expensive at launch then grab a RX 570, you can get your high graphics with it for just WoW, until you decide to try 1440p
ok thanks for the help
I bet you could hold off on a CPU/mobo upgrade if you plopped a new GPU in there. GTX 950 is not the best and 2gb vram is pretty low. Dropping in a 570 rx would probably give you what youâre looking for.
I used play on a GTX 960 and recently upgraded to a RTX 2060 and it was worth it. I play at 1440p also.
Like others suggested for videocard the RX 570 should be good for you. Canada Computers has a MSI 4gb one for $199 and get 2 free games with it - the division 2 gold edition and World war Z. Or if you want more ram thereâs the 8gb Sapphire from them as well.
Amazon also has a Asus 8gb for $219. Also Amazon has better return policies then CC.
Yeah I was thinking and Iâm probably just gonna build a new pc I wanna try the new Ryzens out I was thinking Ryzen7 3700x with a gtx 2070 8gb Iâm sure I could get ultra with that one 1080p
RX 5700 XT is for $449, was announced today so now decide what you want
RX 5700 XT is at 2070 levels and some cases faster
Yeah I would think that will run WoW at 1080p pretty much as well as any system. Probably handle a lot of more demanding games really well for a few years, too.
If the build is for WoW then you should go with the Rtx 2070, because WoW tends to favor Nvidia.
this.
2gb gpu is minimum (and blizzâs min is 720p)
1080p and anything but low will run over 2gb easy.
âŚ
if you are gettign a GPU for WoWâŚa rtx 2070 is WAY overkill.
decided to build a new pc is this overkill
CPU
AMD - Ryzen 7 2700 3.2 GHz 8-Core Processor
Motherboard
MSI - B450 Gaming Plus ATX AM4 Motherboard
Memory
Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Storage
Western Digital - Blue 500 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Video Card
ASRock - Radeon RX VEGA 56 8 GB Phantom Gaming X Video Card
Case
Corsair - SPEC-04 ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply
Corsair - CXM 550 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply
Operating System
Microsoft - Windows 10 Home Full - USB 32/64-bit
Only use a little over 2.4GB at 1440p with almost all settings turned up (sliders to 7, shadows down one notch).
WoW doesnât use that much VRAM.
having 4+ is a good idea. for example, the 1060 3gb has had some issues with warcraft because of running out of vram.
the 3gb 1060 had issues in its existenceâŚlet alone game performance.
its a card that should never of existed.
it wasnt a âlesser 1060â as it wasnt even the same card with reduced ram and stuff ![]()
anyone who bought it was basically robbed.
Change the PSU to a higher capacity, maybe 650/700 because Vega
Aim for a gold rated PSU at least imo
Change the ram to like 3200 rated speed ryzen loves fast ram speed
I seriously think wait till July for a 3600 you will be happier overall
it was fine for the price it was supposed to be, $179, two years ago. Competed just fine with the RX 570.
not evenâŚ
the card was awful price to performance.
if your going for ANYTHING under 6gb version AMD was better choice. (and even the 6gb was beaten by the rx580 when it launched)
Donât forget that nvidia cards werenât as heavily affected by the mining craze as AMD was.
When I got my wifeâs, it was $179. At that same time, an RX 470 was about $399.
That mining craze was insane, polaris and vega were ridiculously expensive for like a year.
We had to recommend a lot of âlesser evilsâ at that time, like GTX 1050s for $150.
At that time last year, RX 580s/1060 6gb were in the $500 range, and the 1050 was at least closer to itâs actual msrp.
I distinctly remember GTX 1080 tis going as high as $1400
I got the 1060 3gb black xmas 2017 as a hold me over until the GPU craze died outâŚgot it for $179 and I have no regret.
âŚyes.yes they were.
1060 6gb and above were murdered by it.
it was around 450+ for a 6gb 1060. WAY over its MSRPâŚand thats IF you could find one. 1070 and 1080 were even worse off.
nvidiaâs lwoer end were ignored becasue they lacked the power to make em viable to msot ppl and at the same prie point could ge ta better card on AMD.
And Nvidia was hurting for months after mining crash becasue they overestimated it (stated by them. it is believed the RTX line was delayed to get rid of overstocked 10 series)
and saying the 3gb version was âgoodâ becasue it wasnt efefcted by the price gouging is liek saying a lump of coal is good becasue its basicalyl a diamond but less expensive.
you âcanâ say that, but it is by no means a reasonable answer.
