Because of coronavirus I wont be able to go to geek squad to get my new cpu installed, so i have decided to try it by myself for the first time
Do i need to rip out my motherboard to be able to install my new cpu?
Will i need to apply new thermal paste?
Im doing this on an already built pc
You won’t necessarily have to take the entire mobo out although to do have to take the CPU cooler off and if its easier you can take the whole mobo out and you will just have to plug in cables again.
And yes wipe the thermal paste off your CPU cooler and put your old CPU somewhere safe. Then yes you have to apply new thermal paste
