New Classes?

Made a post about Races adding into wow. Kinda blew up a tiny bit, was surprised.

So now I’m curious about Classes. What classes would you like to see added to the game? If you could pick any.

Personally I’d like Wardens. I just think they’re cool. Yea, I mean… I don’t think it’ll ever happen. They’re pretty much destroyed at this point, and I think they’re warriors technically? Or… rogues maybe. Hard to say.

I don’t want any new classes.
I want all new redesigns of several specs/classes. Ranged SV would be a good start.

Idk about new classes but I’d like to see a new spec added to each class. I know the balancing would probably be horrendous but it’s what I’d like.

Maybe a ranged spec for warrior.

A bard healing spec for hunter.

A tank spec for shamans.

Etc etc

I’d rather see them go through all existing classes and specs and redesign them just like how they did with ret pally.

Then next expansion or after, add additional spec to each except druids. Give every class 4 specs.

I’d like to see them keep melee SV, but call it bombadier. bring back ranged SV as survival lol

None.

4ths specs where it makes sense but we don’t need anymore classes. When most people ask for a new class it’s just a class we already have but with different cosmetics, like a necromancer.

Tinker is probably the only thing unique enough to make sense as an addition, as loathe as I am to admit it. Most other stray WarCraft-rooted suggestions make sense as specs for other classes, if they aren’t already superseded by an existing option.

For example, Necromancer makes sense in other games, but it’s trash tier in this setting: a stepping stone to Warlock, Death Knight, and Lich. Whereas Blademaster is unique enough to warrant a playable option, but doesn’t have enough meat on the bone to create an entire class around.

Depends on the expansion that helps them exist.

Perhaps Tinker if the Southsea pirates have been collecting Azerite and developing Azerite weapons and mechs.

edit: Maybe Necromancer if we explore the long reach of Azjol-Nerub as insects and the Crypt Lord abilities can help differ them from Death Knights.

edit: Unlikely but Bards could possibly be involved if Murmur threatens to destroy the world with sound.

Can’t you just post your thoughts in one of the other several dozen threads about this? They pop up monthly.

I could but I’m too self absorbed to bother reading other people’s content

I would prefer a 4th spec for the already existing classes.

  • Like a Earth based tanking shaman;

  • Mid-range Pistol dual wielding rogue;

  • 1h spear and shield Melee/mid-range mix DPS spec for warriors; (with javellin throws and melee spear fencing)

  • The classic “Shockadin” spec for Paladins. (Mid-ranged paladin dps caster, with some melee stuff)

  • A “battlemage” spec for Mages. One-handed sword on Main hand and a Staff at off-hand (Gandalf vibes). Think about Enhance Shamans but with less suport spells and more ofensive and CC ones.

And go on.

Necromancer. And I mean an actual, legit Necromancer. Not a Blackguard who multi-classed into a Death Domain Cleric. They could pull inspiration from the Diablo 3 Necromancer if they had to. They could also make a “dark healer” spec for it that drains blood from their enemies to heal their allies.

Necromancer’s are basically Unholy DKs.

I explicitly said:

I don’t see the difference I guess.

Necromancers are casters.

Death Knights are melee.

I’ll meet in the middle and accept a 4th spec for Death Knights that wield INT weapons and stands in the back casting spells.

I honestly think there are too many classes right now.

Might’ve passed the chance with Shadowlands but the insect angle has some chance if the nerubians return as threat.

They could copy several of the Diablo classes. They could also copy classes from other games. At this point, why not?

Yeah, because giving 12 classes a completely new spec but leaving 1 of them out is really going to go over well.

Druids have always had 4 specs. Right from day 1 feral could both tank and dps. It just didn’t play well since you ended up having to take too many disjointed talents.

It wasn’t until Cata that they finally decided to split up the two playstyles so they could handle them properly.

But they’ve always had access to all roles. It’s not like they were just randomly given one just because.

I think Druids should get a 5th spec. It would be a medium ranged physical ranged spec based off of their ability to control nature.

Their shapeshift form would be a Botani.

For their abilities, think grass type pokemon. They would use vine whips that are attached to their wrists, shoot out razer leaves/thorns, have a petal dance sort of ability and a poison powder for their DoT. For their CC they could use sleep powder/stun spore.

For masters of manipulating nature, we sure don’t do a whole lot of it outside of entangling roots and typhoon.
