New Class?

What about a potential new class based off of the spell breaker’s from WC3 that were the original guards for kael’thas and the convoy that brought in the Blood Elf priests. Would of been great to see come out during BC but sadly didn’t. could be a viable option for another mail wearing class and could be a new tank class as well and we all know we don’t happen to see many tanks in general. I see a lot of people liking the tinker class idea. Thoughts??

You know what else would be a cool idea? Fixing the classes we already have.

I agree with that idea but we have been waiting for that to happen pretty much since Wrath and maybe before that even.

Spellbreakers are uniquely Blood Elven, you’re already wearing their armor, and their abilities are already being used by Warriors. A Spellbreaker is a Blood Elf Prot Warrior in Heritage armor.

I suppose that would be cool but isn’t really related to discussions of a new class. MoP had very well regarded class design and was also an expansion that added a class. BFA has much maligned class design and did not add a class. Linking a deficiency in the quality of existing class design to the addition of a new class is specious.

As far as spellbreakers go I think there are a few decent write ups floating around. They aren’t the worst idea but are also nothing I’m super excited for. I feel like they also missed their window in TBC, which would have been a neat point in the story to bring them in lore wise.

I agree.

We should only be talking about Tinkers at this point. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes I am wearing the armor but they can bring different aspects to the table other then what the warrior class does. Plus Spellbreakers also had arcane abilities. yes in WC3 they didn’t have much but since they are similar to the warrior it shouldn’t be that hard to make it. The Spellbreakers would be open to all elf races.

Can’t see it happening tbh. Their entire identity is in shutting down spellcasters which would be incredibly unfun / broken in PvP for casters. Its a unit that doesn’t translate well into WoW’s current design

I mean druids were uniquely night elves too and were later retconned to include the tauren.

but they could just slap spellbreakers onto void elves or something and we’re good to go. Or they could do something kinda dumb and rewrite wardens to be the alliance equivalent of spellbreakers.

all that said, I’m not sure I really want spellbreakers as a class, I think tinkers would be a lot more fun.

I mean, I’m not against spellbreakers, I just feel like, unlike Demon Hunters, they really don’t have much going for them. A spellbreaker is pretty much just a paladin + warrior + mage. May aswell just ask for Battlemages and call their Tank spec Spellbreaker, that I would be down with, although I feel like they’d rip Avenger’s Shield & Spell Reflect out of the other prot specs. I could definitely see them being a chain wearing Hybrid though, but at the point I feel like that’s what SHaman were supposed to be, even heard rumors at enhancement at one point was supposed to be a tank spec to answer paladin’s prot spec.

I feel Tauren & Druids go really well together, and the Lore has been built up a lot to make it work, that didn’t even cross my mind tbh.

A Draenei with good taste.

I’m all for a new class if its not an Hero Class. Monks introduction was great. DK/DHs were and to an extent still are a disaster of gameplay balance and design.

The idea of an engineer/tinker type of class has been floating around for a long time. Could be interesting if they don’t make it overly reliant on pets (turrets and such).

It would have to be a class that starts like a Hero Class, I can’t see Blizzard doing another 1-60 class any time soon. It’s because of the existence of Legion.

They would have to make 2 or 3 more ‘artifact scenarios’ for the new class if it was 1-60.

I really feel like Tinker has to be the last class added to the game, because their the last Hero from WC3 that has no representation outside of the Engineering profession, which is really a non issue, because a class is allowed to do things a profession can’t.

Dragonborn class is the only right answer. Basically the “Be Wrathion” class

I totally agree with you, was more just playing devils advocate. (I should probably get out of the habit of doing that tbh)

Pretentious, obsessive, and have lots of Daddy issues? What kind of abilities would we get?

What about new talents introduced via class quests?

You could have several different class fantasies in this way. Not as good as new classes, but perhaps easier to introduce?

Edit: What I mean is, a way to change existing classes without changing everything. Like a quest that allows a class to change its Mastery trait in some way.

I didn’t mean to trigger you, I’m truly sorry. Please forgive me.

Well the DK was suppose to shut down casters an yes they do that pretty good but just like every class has its get away tactics so even with it being in the game i doubt it would be a 100% destroy any spellcaster he would get his hands on type deal but it would for sure put the pressure on them.
