New Class, Race, and Spec ideas

I know this is a topic that has been announced over and over again, but I feel that it needs to come to Blizzard’s attention once again that a lot of us players were really looking forward to playing a new class when Shadowlands was released. Last expansion we got a few new allied races, which is fine and kept the game somewhat fresh. However, when Shadowlands came out, there wasn’t an announcement of a new class or anything like that. Anyway, let’s get down to business and see what we can come up with. (If you have any ideas of a new class, race, or a new spec for any class. Please comment down below.)

New Class: Bard
I know some of you are thinking that this was already an April fool’s joke many years ago, but with WoW being a DnD style platform, this should have been a class a long time ago.

The bard class would be a mail wearer who can heal or deal damage. (melee or ranged.) The energy source of this class could use a focus pool similar to the bard or a completely new source all of its own. Trying not to step on the toes of the hunter class at this point so when a bard deals ranged damage, I would say they should specialize in magic damage using your instrument. As far as melee goes, I’m not quite sure how that would pan out, but I’m sure you guys could come up with some ideas. Healing, on the other hand, the bard would use music to buff and heal while maintaining its focus pool and not “overperforming.”

New race ideas: So at this point, I’m sure that Blizzard isn’t going to be implementing new races for each faction. Instead, they are just focusing on allied races that you have to unlock while playing a certain storyline. So here are a few allied race ideas I had in mind.

Horde: Orgres! For the love of God and all that is holy, I think the horde have been waiting a very long time to play an ogre. Blizzard was originally making this race playable back in cataclysm and it was scrapped at the last minute and replaced by goblins. I have nothing against goblins, but to replace ogres with goblins is kind of a low blow and that still stings to this day if you ask me. Make it happen, Blizzard! Also, give us the option to give them two heads! and Rexxar would make a fine leader for the ogres seeing that he is a half-orc half-ogre.

Ogre classes: Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Warlock, Shaman, Monk, Death Knight.

Alliance: A lot of people are saying Vykul would make a great alliance race, but looking at the lore it more than likely wouldn’t fit because of their hatred for their descendants. My personal opinion would have to Half-Elf. If anyone has played any kind of DnD game before, Half-Elf is a very common race in those kinds of games. A half-elf is half-human and half-elf. (high elf, not night elf. Although, the half-night elf would be interesting if they gave us that option.) I personally play a half-elf in one of my DnD campaigns and I really love it. They would fit right in with the alliance and I think people would really enjoy playing as one.

Half-Elf classes: Warrior, Hunter, Mage, Priest, Warlock, Paladin, Druid, Monk, Death Knight. (I don’t think Demon Hunter would be a good option just because it wouldn’t be fair to the horde having only one race that has this class as opposed to having two.)

Spec ideas: So at this point I only have one idea few a new spec and that revolves around the shaman. That spec would be a tank spec for this class. This particular topic has been brought up multiple times in recent posts on the forum and I really enjoyed reading it. So this idea isn’t exactly one of my own. The spec would be called Earth Warden if you haven’t heard of this before I would suggest googling Earth Warden for the shaman. I think there is a Reddit post about it and it totally would work seeing that shaman can use shields.

Just keep in mind, these are just my ideas and I would really love to see these added to the game. Also, let me know what you guys think about what I mentioned, and let me know if you guys have any ideas of your own. Thanks for reading my post. FOR AZEROTH!

They can’t properly balance and maintain the specs that are already In the game let alone add more. So idk what you want, quality or quantity.

I like these ideas, a half-elf bard sounds like it would be really fun to play!

I just want a holy dps spec for priest so I’m not stuck with one dps option

To be fair, with how poor balance is currently, might aswell release a new class won’t make much of a difference really…

SHADOWLANDS NECROMANCERS PLEASE!!

Also Ogres and Tuskarr pair great together!!

Just give us Dragonsworn already.
Please

Thank you. Yes I agree that would be really fun to play as. Not sure what any new horde races to fit the narrative of the bard, but I’m sure Blizzard could think of something.

Orc wardrummer .

If you’re gonna upend the scene again, you could at least do it with a class that brings something new to the table instead of a warlock reskin.

I remember a few months ago someone posting some well thought out concepts for a water based class. Tide something rather.
I know some might say shaman is has a water theme, but to me that just rain.

I think something stemming from the ocean would be great.

I only want a new class if they finally make a new caster class. I’d love a class like the EQ enchanter. Tons of fun illusion spells and having powerful buffs/debuffs and having animated weapons fight for you.

I guess I would settle for something like bard. Just knock it off with the obsession for melee classes please.

You’re thinking too small. The class is actually a dragon.

It’s available to every race, because you’re not really that race. You are a dragon and that race is just what you use as your humanoid disguise.

I don’t know the Shadowlands Necromancers look far from a Warlock. Visually and aesthetically, skill wise too.

Spooky black and purple instead of spooky green and purple?

A sorcerer who raises an army of minions to fight on their behalf without getting their hands dirty. AKA demonology.

Or maybe you like the more classic D&D necromancy of rot and decay, a slow, miserable and ignominious end. Sounds like affliction.

I’d bring up destruction, but destruction is already just a mage with green particle effects. Assuming this hypothetical class didn’t just go the DH route and only have two specs.

No no I’d rather the route of the Necromancers from Shadowlands

Your comparing apples to oranges, yes both are fruit but completely different.

No is has to be a class for draconic themed abilities.

Meaning what, exactly? Because the necromancers we see in Shadowlands seem exactly like the necromancers of every other point in the warcraft setting. I haven’t seen anything out of them now that we didn’t see in Scholomance.

All your abilities would be draconic. Because you’re literally a dragon.

If they’ll be adding a class it’ll be based off existing classes they’ve done in WC3. They’re 3 for 3 for that right now, they’ll be continuing the tradition if they add new classes.

I’m thinking of a hybrid class/race idea. Drakonid as a class instead of a race by itself, but the race you pick is your original form to use as your default disguise (and associated racials) but then you can collect others by raising rep with the other races of your faction, and a cooldown to make yourself a full-fledged dragon for a short period of time.

Specs could be built around various dragon-themed skills introduced throughout the game instead of limiting it to specific aspects (say, tank could be called Earthwarder or healer is Lifebinder but you wouldn’t exclusively use those colors’ abilities). You could then choose / change your aspect to reskin some of the abilities you use, such as a blue dragon’s frost breath, or a black dragon’s shadowflame, etc.

And because every class has to have at least one, an obnoxious min/max talent nobody wants to use but feels pressured into taking because of its damage: Tail Swipe, and you have to physically turn your back to the enemy to use it because the targeting cone comes out of your rear instead of in front of you. :stuck_out_tongue:
