Something along the lines of a samurai would be neat. Could be a mail class, with a play style crossed between warrior/rogue/hunter, maybe even give it a tank spec.
Haven’t put a ton of thought into it, I just think it would be cool, plus you’d make all the weebs happy

Yes, if the WoW version of a samurai is a ranged class, I’m all for it.
We have more than enough melee. Every new class we have had has been melee.

I don’t think it could be only ranged or melee… maybe 2 ranged specs and a tank spec. I think its got a lot of potential but I’m not a dev, and i know it would be hard to make another class feel different to the dozens we have already

A samurai sounds cool, and more importantly (to me) Samurai aesthetic armor would be cool. We got a small taste of it in MoP but that was more monk heavy and not so much samurai/ninja. I have no idea how you could make a samurai a ranged class either.
The Samurai doesn’t really ‘fit’ in WoW lore, at least not at the moment. There’s no real place for them, not really.
The Pandaria expansion got close, but, Pandaria is more based on Chinese culture than Japanese.
If Blizzard did something similar to FFXIV and created a region based solely on Japanese culture, then I think that could work for introducing a Samurai like class.

Oh neat, seems like blizz already kinda has one, hopefully it gets added eventually
after a little googling i found that samurai used to use bows from horseback so there is some precedent for them using bows, they also used portable shields they would plant and use as cover while firing from a distance. so its definitely possible for them to be both melee and ranged
that’s true, they couldn’t really just drop it out of no where, the expansion would have to return to an asian/japanese style

When I was around middle school I read a book about samurais and I actually knew that at one time. I’m 31 now.
And that would just be awesome to have another class besides hunters who can use bows.

Plus Samurai were required to be adept in Martial arts both armed and unarmed, so a bit of Monk in there as well… especially anti-armor unarmed combat.
Can’t we just pretend Chinese and Japanese cultures are the same thing? That oughta work.

Monk can be both Chinese and Japanese. Samurai is unique for Japanese and has major significance in their history. Don’t overlook their culture.

I could see some kind of thing like that, a frost like spec in the sense that you could use a two hander or two one handed swords, a archery spec, and a tank spec that mixes ranged and melee.

Not really. It would be deeply offensive to both Chinese and Japanese players.
Imagine if someone mixed Canadian and American culture together, or American and Mexican culture, and then said “Oh, that’ll work.”
That would piss off Americans and Canadians/Mexicans in equal measure.
Now imagine for a second if it was in a video game and none of it was real.
