New Class Changes

Once u realize these are pve changes it makes sense, never look at balance changes through a pvp lens, they will never fix pvp

none of those ret talents were even good in pve tho lols. This is literally just rogue devs losing in prepatch to ret.

Arms was one of the top DPS specs in Uldir and Ny’alotha so this is incorrect.

jokes on you if you think rogue has devs

Every spec has devs.

If every class had dev’s we’d all look like priest in our sl notes.

Put it this way, every spec has devs but not all devs are equally talented at designing the specs given to them.

You’ll never hear them say what specs they develop because they don’t want to get flamed by angry idiots on Twitter and the forums so it’s mostly private info among select people, but all specs have devs assigned to them.

They should grow up then. Communication with the playerbase is how you bring games back from death’s door. It’s the internet. People are gonna flame, whine, and complain until the cow’s come home. Especially with something as beloved as world of warcraft. They should be happy people are complaining. They should feel proud that players are impassioned enough to speak out about their game and classes.

They do communicate with the player base, but it’s not personal anymore.

Ghostcrawler: “I’ve had weird phone calls in the middle of the night. I’ve had death threats. I’ve had Blizzard security offer to monitor my house.”

This is why class devs don’t identify themselves as the main developer of a spec. There’s always that group of absolute weird freaks online that find out where they live and threaten to kill them and their family just because they don’t like that their main spec got nerfed.

Holinka wasn’t spared the abuse either, he probably copped more abuse than anyone else at Blizzard post-Ghostcrawler.

BfA showed they really don’t. No tuning changes were made really and there was zero words from blizzard about anything.

SL development has definitely had a lot more back and forth between devs and players this time, maybe not in PvP but definitely in PvE.

Well let’s see if that wellspring of communication continues into SL after the first raid tuning patch or if they just abandon us again.

You’ll know if the meta becomes slow.

imagine thinking blizzard gives a rats booty about us

Only when they just had a bad expansion

If you don’t understand these changes from a pvp perspective it’s because this is PvE tuning. They will probably do their first % pvp modifiers after the first maybe 2nd week of the season. That will also be when mythic has been out for 1-2 weeks so you’ll get more PvE tuning then as well. Y’all know how this goes.

Lol you still think there are devs? To me it looks like they hire a freelancer once every 2 years to add some talents in and maybe some new spells for the new expansion. How else can you explain going months on end with 0 class changes in BFA?

Ice lance definitely pumped and could have used changes, but I’d like to see them push it in another direction (i.e buffing base frostbolt damage like Dilly suggested). I don’t want frost to have another expansion where it’s basically a permaslowing version of afflock that dampens and survives until you win.

Actually it’s because Ghostcrawler started openly playing Ret to test SL they probably just nerfed it in spite.

Ret nerfs were very deserved, and good changes. However a shame blizzard doesn’t follow in that direction with other classes
