How cool would it be for WoW to make a Bard Class.
Talent Tree Specs of Discordance, Symphonic, Resonance
Discordance could be used for attacking and increasing the party/raid damage output,
Symphonic could be used for CC or nullifications
Resonance could be used for help healing and regens.
have them use either mail or even up to plate armor.
have them be able to use 1 handed weapons only.
any thoughts? likes, dislikes?
I honestly don’t think wow is designed to have support classes like the one you describe anymore. they would have to be mostly competitive damage wise to be taken in M+ and honestly would prob end up considered under powered and judged on there damage meter rather then what they bring to the table. I mean we are literally picking our healers based on which ones can do more damage these days…its sad but that’s the way wows gone. on top of that personally I don’t think iv ever liked a Bard class in any game iv played with one and they tend to not be a popular add by game designers either. I just don’t see it happening tho I would love some kind of new ranged class.
Support classes do t really work outside of a raid. Tank, healer and dps for dungeons any keys.
Can’t think why anyone would sacrifice a dps spot for a support class. Classic tried paladins as a buffer class, it really didn’t work out.
well, they could make it so it wouldn’t have to be a support class. They could be listed as a melee DPS, but instead of casting buffs that last for an extended period of time, make their songs temp based like Shaman totems. They only gain the effect while standing with in a certain radius.
Lot of groups start running 4 dps at a certain point.
3 DPS and a support class might work

It is a total support class, which they’d have to tune raids for. Like EQ, it would be necessary to have one bard on the raid (but probably only one.)
I don’t see Wow ever getting one. I also don’t know why people are posting this every week or so, now (posts about Bard class.)
We got more then enough melee classes. if this was a thing ranged with templated aoe ground effect like some healer spells would be the way to go. I still don’t ever see this spec in wow.

not trying to be rude or to argue about it, but I for one think it would be amazing to see a bard class.
I actually started liking the Tinker idea. Ranged dps that uses gun turrets and bombs. Healer spec that uses gadgets and injectors/repair bots. then a tank that is a mechsuit the tinker gets into which would act similar to druid going into bear form.
It will make balancing much more of a chore the triad of tank, dps and dps has worked for years. Let’s not throw a wrench is one system that doesn’t need to be screwed around with.if you want another dps class with a bard flavor that’s one thing but wow doesn’t need a support class that isn’t a full healer.
Meh just make it a 4th spec for rogue or hunter.
It sounds boring on its own.
They can 4th specs to many classes easier than new classes tbh.
This game isn’t set up for support classes. It’s a holy trinity.

I’m not harping on them. I am simply stating that a discussion shouldn’t be shot down simply because the one person didn’t agree with it or doesn’t like the idea.
Yes, the system is holy trinity based, but that doesn’t mean that the Bard class couldn’t be a support DPS (much like what a shaman is).
And yet you asked “likes, dislikes” in your original post, therefor asking for opinions. The entire discussion wasn’t shot down. Kypookins gave their opinion, just like others did, and you jumped on them for it for who knows what reason.
Shamans aren’t a support DPS. They’re either straight up DPS or heals.

I’m not being rude. I didn’t ask if it would be cool or uncool. I asked about likes or dislikes hoping to start a decent conversation about it.
You can’t just say “No cause I don’t like it”. That isn’t an informative response.
I’m looking as to reasons why, or why not.
I personally think that they would be a viable form of DPS with support capabilities. Imagine being on a raid and having one bard playing a AoE regen song and another Bard playing an AoE attack song. Another by the healers playing a mana regen song.
There are so many combinations of situations for support that a Bard can be added in to.
The only class I want is a Dark Ranger. And with the devs comments on Blood Elf Golden eyes and their opinions on making more player choice options to say if you want to choose to have your character cleansed by the Sunwell then you can, I think we’ll see it as Blood Elf customization and I’m for that and okay with it.
Other than that I am not interested in any classes, maybe more specs for existing classes. The classes I always see get thrown around, Dark Ranger, Bard, Tinker, Necromancer. Only Dark Ranger and Necromancer peak my interest. And would both be ranged I think, which would be nice to add a RDPS over another melee though I’m unsure what a bard is it could be ranged.
Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between the hunter we have now and a Dark Ranger?
