New cinematic trailer just dropped

Or a world where weirdos go all red string conspiracy theorist about any black character that shows up.

It’s a black woman who is a warrior, with natural hair in a practical cut.

But I mean, you’ve clearly got the tinfoil hat on, or are just someone trying to recruit for the culture war pretending to care about this stuff and can’t defend your point outside of throwing out vagueries and acting like they’re obvious truths.,

But everyone has a different fantasy, and I can easily see someone seeing her as a more power fantasy type, a strong warrior who looks like one. There’s room for all kinds of options that way. Like she’s a much different fantasy than Naldeia, and they cover more options that way.

i know, i said that. but i said also, that many would like idealism, and currently they arent getting that cause game makers are all going for the same realistic power type. in other words, they seem to think all black women want to or should want to be the power type.

I had the same exact feeling. The announcement cinematic was a million times better.

I thought it kicked butt. I loved it and it felt dark and gritty like Blizzard of old.

Edit: I’m glad it’s not Dragon daycare and pink pony stuff cinematic. :face_vomiting:

Some people are easily impressed :man_shrugging:

What did you want cutesy wootesy stuff in it?

I make it a habit to only interact with adults online.

Did I hurt your feelings?

Come on admit it, you wanted bunny girls O.o

I am not a fan of DEI by any means but I do think some people are looking to much into this.

If the argument is about the Female Paladin she reminds me of Vasquez from 1986 Aliens. There are other examples of female Soldiers in movies from the 80s and 90s this reminds me of.

The game hasn’t been released yet and none of us know the back story to this character.

Let’s hope she is not a Yrel and actually has some substance to her character.

This cinematic felt Blizzard like in my opinion.

My2cents.

faerin is more feminine than vasquez, but her femininity or lack thereof isnt the issue, in isolation. the issue is all the western game makers are making only vasquez-like black females. personally, i like faerin, but i am not a black female who is frustrated they are only represented as vasquez, but i understand why irija is not happy about it. also i dont play other games where this is an issue, cause i’m mostly wow only

Fair enough but I’m looking at it from an old school Blizzard fan and this cinematic felt Blizzard like to me.

It was dark, gritty and scary like the 90s. Where Wolverine was drawn with a cigarette in his mouth and people didn’t get offended over small things.

Like I said I’ll reserve judgement once I’ve played the game and learned her back story and will see if she is a Yrel or Pelagos boring.

i played the beta till max level and she was just like any other leader, gave alot of go do quests and filled in some of her back history. spoilers ahead i think her and anduin may have a solid friendship and she may even heal him of his depression, because shes been thru alot, too, but she just keeps on trucking. anduin never really had a mother figure. greymane was his temp dad but he never had a temp mom. thrall seems to have gotten him off his pity pot, but he’s still unsure of himself.

Not at all. In fact, I am suffering secondhand embarrassment for you.

Blood Elves and by extension Void Elves should look feminine and be like a Disney Princess. Players don’t want to see, as you put it, the discernable jawline.

Looks like the old cinematic team was replaced with DEI hires.

I recognized one character from the entire trailer. Not sure what they were going for with this.
