Dark hounds beast cleave looks nice
What exactly does this mean? Does this mean the new Withering Fire that automatically fires a Black Arrow at your target and 2 additional targets will only get the Bleak Powder on one of the Black Arrows?
Seems so, but I tested it on the PTR for a while and we’re doing significantly more AOE with these changes especially the beast cleave dark hound, so i wouldn’t worry.
It should say - only one Bleak Powder per Black Arrow. So, it can only proc once per cast.
These are the changes I care about.
Withering Fire felt like a RNG random event on BM with how infrequently it occurred.
" * Shadow Daggers damage reduced by 90%."
I’m confused by this, wasn’t shadow daggers already doing pitiful damage?
What’s even the point of reducing the damage even more? Can you even reduce something (shadow dagger damage) that didn’t even exist in the first place?
Because disengage is not on the global cooldown so by standing in melee and macroing it to other abilities it’s free damage from absolutely degenerative gameplay.
It’s a good thing because it stops us having to do ridiculous crap like that just to do optimum DPS.
So initially Bleak Powder (BP) was being procced off the initial Black Arrow (BA) and then any additional BA cleave procs from either Hunter’s Prey or Withering Fire. In a CoTW window where you often get multiple BA cleave procs you could see as many as 9 BPs being fired off which was really a substantial amount of damage. To tone that down, BPs current iteration now only procs off the initial Black Arrow and not the cleave arrows which is a substantial nerf but to somewhat compensate for the 66% reduction they doubled its damage coefficient. Overall this is a net nerf to BP but not terribly egregious.
The first change is basically a QoL one. Think of it as wipe protection so hunter’s won’t drop stacks if they have to run back.
The second change is a little more substantial and is Blizz’s subtle attempt to make sure hunter’s didn’t feel the need to hold BW at 3 stacks waiting for a fresh AoE pull to launch #4.
Yes, but Disengage has a CD, how would you spam Shadow Daggers? I only PvP, I wasn’t sure if I was going to take it, now I am definitely not.
