Just noticed the Celestial Observer’s Ensemble is no longer in my appearances. I bought it when it came out and was using it fine. In the Shop screen, it still says Purchased; but I do not see any of the ensemble in my xmogs. Gear that was already mogged to it was all reverted.
There’s a known and acknowledged bug where store transmogs will spontaneously disappear from your collection and then reappear later.
This support article talks about the cosmetic helmet store transmogs, which were the first items to display these symptoms, but it seems the problem is applicable to any transmog that doesn’t come from within the game itself (store, Recruit-a-Friend, etc.)
That post acknowledging the issue is from July… This issue is happening every day to me. Is this seriously acceptable? Charging for a transmog and then it disappearing daily on a whim? And then having to reapply it to every character affected?
It’s up to you (and each player) whether it’s “acceptable”, but you only have two choices: either it’s acceptable (temporarily) until the developers fix it, or it’s unacceptable and you quit.
If you’re asking if the developers find it acceptable, you would have to ask them, but since we’ve been told they’re working to find a fix, it seems like it isn’t acceptable, but “unacceptable” doesn’t miraculously fix a software bug.
I know software can be rough, but apparently this has been an issue for six+ months. I’ve been resubscribed for four days (the last time I played was the month Shadowlands launched). I’m just astonished is all.
I guess I understand. I work in the software business, and 6 months for a bug that affects a significant portion of your userbase and interferes with using an extra-cost option is always a high priority for the developers, but even hair-on-fire urgency doesn’t make the bug easier to find or squash.
Sadly, this kind of hard-to-fix bug isn’t rare in any software system.
Same issue. Bought the Celestial mog the other day, used it and now it’s gone from my Sets (as is my BlizzCon Yeti costume). My character was wearing it and it still shows on the Character Select screen, but in-game it’s not showing any transmog for those slots (I just see the gear I’m actually wearing).
Feels crappy to have bought something and just have it disappear, with no way of knowing when it will come back or if it will disappear again.
Really disappointed – Blizzard, you shouldn’t sell any more transmog outfits until this issue is fixed.
I mean, I really don’t think it’s acceptable for them to sell new store mogs knowing they haven’t been able to fix this for months. It’s one thing to sell a product and then a bug comes up after the fact, and you do what you can to fix it. It’s another to intentionally sell a product knowing that is bugged, that it is not working as intended or advertised, and that you have no idea when or if you will be able to fix it. That part seems unprofessional and debatably unethical.
Also, there is a third option, which is people can demand to have their purchase refunded until Blizzard can ensure the product they are selling works as advertised.
I wouldn’t argue, but complaining here will never get to the ears of the people who decide what to put into the Shop and when. Bug Reports are only read by QA to be forwarded to the developers for their bug tracking system.
If you want someone besides QA to read your complaints, post in General Discussion or the Transmog forum.
