New buyable corruption

So a friend just brought this to my attention, starting tomorrow with echo’s we will be able to buy corruption and place them on gear.
My rogue who is my main, has never gotten a single IS, TD, Gushing, or anyone damaging corruptions of any rank. My rogue is also my main so that means the essences bound to my account are at highest rank account wide for me, being which my rogue has never unlocked the currency. That currency being what is required to buy corruptions. So despite all of the time, endless keys, 5 masked runs etc, because it is my main my rogue will yet again be behind because I do not have a stock pile of Echo’s of Ny’alotha and no good corruption to boot.

Is anything being planned to counter this issue i’m sure many players will have? It’s a nice thought being able to actually control my rng and get a 10% overall damage buff for mythic +. Yet I still can’t help to think it’s going to be a struggle because so many more will be that much further ahead because they have multiple characters. Shouldn’t echo’s be reset?

Really hoping to get a GM’s input on this issue.

They don’t care because it’s a non-issue that alts (nearly by definition less progressed than a main) gets to buy a corruption first.

And mains would have had access to many more corruption opportunities.

In theory yes, but you also have people like myself who must have the worst rng in existence. 8 weeks now, not a single strong corruption, not even one for best secondary stat. I feel like they need to reset the currency.

So since you have had bad luck you want to make sure and slap down others alts so you don’t feel as bad?

Yeah, that doesn’t say its out tomorrow.

Resetting currencies to make an equal grind isn’t slapping others down, its not giving other people a head start to get rid of rng and hand alts gear when people who play an main still don’t have them.

For a lot of people they have decent corruption on their mains and not their alts. This way let’s alts jump right in.

Your answer only inhibits others out of some notion that it’s not fair. It doesn’t improve your main, just hurts others (and your own) alts.

Well my 2 alts each have twilight dev(best damaging corruption for mythic+)
My rogue gets avoidance over and over again, but I guess the most consistent part of the game would be this; If you’re thinking about returning after a break when a new patch releases, wait a couple of months and get what others worked hard to get, for free.

favourite both places and never be behind ever again!

It’s been 4 months, which is the same amount of time as 1st raid tiers last in their entirety. Uldir lasted 4 months. Others are normally 5ish months.

And yes, by definition the point of catchup systems are to make it easier for someone who is playing later to catch up to someone playing the whole time.

And this effects your playing how? Do you feel invalidated? Do you need others to look up to you to feel a sense of accomplishment?

Should try being happy knowing you managed to get it done when the content was new and not worry about catch up mechanics.

You are right, still have never been a fan of the magnitude the catch system gives for lack of effort. Still feel resetting the currencies should be an included tho. Are you aware of anything on say what 5 masks runs give you in echo’s ?

Not exactly, just a little unfair that I’ve been working to obtain something on the character I dedicate most of my time to, and then blizzard releases a system to remove rng, and peoples alt’s are closer to a rank 3 twilight dev. Gets annoying playing with two friends who run twilight dev rank 3+. It consistently does almost 10 million damage over a key. So if anything I guess invalidated.

The only info is the blue post I think which says all sources are x5.

My main doesn’t get them so I don’t know how much a 5 mask gives.

For what it’s worth I think TD still should be nerfed even though I have multiple. It’s the most out of line strong.

Yea that’s my situation, my hunter hasn’t done a 5 mask yet, but has over 5,000 echo’s. Guess the upside is my hunter can probably get a crazy corruption on reset tomorrow if the system is set in place then.

Yeah same with my shaman and druid.

It already has been nerfed. Nerfing it further would make it as bad as EV, unsable all the time.

It’s already B/C tier for single target and pvp and is completely RNG.

There are 3 single target fights in the entire raid (the 3 IS don’t suck at) and TD is still REALLY strong for the other 9.

It’s dominant in mythic+ always.

And yeah it’s rng in PvP but so are most of them. At least it’s not dispellable like IS. It still can proc and gib someone for 150K or more for being lucky.

Depends what difficulty. The priority dmg on the other fights doesn’t usually favor TD.

For some classes. But the nerf already reduced is omega pad and its arguably tied with lash.

I’d rather have lash, gw, or sv.

Imo, TD is fine. It’s S tier in AoE and just ok everywhere else. It’s not like when EV was always best.

Although, I wish they’d tune EV out of the dirt they left it in.
