New box art for wow has a dwarf flying

Take out the spaces but the new player edition box art shows a dwarf flying on a gryphon. Pretty shady advertising considering how much the devs hate flying.

Leave these guys alone, they need something to get outraged about. This is their warm-up for the day. The outrage crowd doesn’t just get outraged over nothing, you know.

You can fly in Classic WoW, that Dwarf is on a taxi route, on a 17 minute journey to Iron Forge.

I think the OP has a point. It’s almost as dumb as selling flying mounts in an xpac they didn’t want anyone to fly in.

No, they don’t. If all the box covers depict the player then why aren’t we able to play the Lich King? Why can’t we be Deathwing? Why not Illidan?

Cover art is just that, art. It’s not a depiction of the player.

All this thread is is another thing for players to pretend to rage about.

Except you’ve always been able to play as dwarves. You’ve never been able to play as a lore character. The first wow box art had a dwarf and a night elf on it.

I don’t see how you made that connection. The Lich King, Deathwing were selling points for the xpac. They have no problem using flying to draw people in but then they make you jump through hoops to get it.

The Dwarf isn’t flying though. The Gryphon is. The Dwarf is just riding it. Could be a FP

So the fantasy here would be waiting impotently while an uncontrollable flight path takes you to your destination? Is that really the fantasy take away you got from this?
