New Blitz Matchmaking Bricking Queue Times? 4-5x Longer

Is it really the new matchmaking that is destroying queue times for blitz? Before the patch whenever i’d play low mmr alts anywhere from 1500-1800 i never sat more than like a 7 minute queue at any time any day of the week. Now I’m consistently getting 20-30+ minute queue timers on those alts playing at 1500, even at primetime. Feels like something got messed with that really didn’t need to. I get the want/need for the higher mmr games to be more competitive and have everyone in a closer mmr range but for the sake of being able to play the game can it be looked at for lower mmr rbgs?

I will 100% take a 20 minute queue if it means getting higher quality matches. That said, there has been a pretty steep participation drop feeding into this as well.

True, I can believe theres definitely less people playing as well. But for the lower mmr games i certainly havent noticed any improvement, not that there’s much to be said for quality at that level which is I think what threw me off. But yeah at high mmr I can see the appeal of waiting for good games.

I’m at 10 minute queues around 1800-1900, where are these 20minute queues? Healer still kinda instant.

I noticed that my Alt’s first placement game take longer to queue and as I keep going, the queue drops.

ive had like 3 18-20 min queues at like 1500 in the last 3 hours lol

Think a lot of people just aren’t queuing this week because of how broken and buggy everything is.

That, and the anniversary providing a distraction with new content.

Keep in mind we now have the anniversary event, and korrak’s revenge, and a brawl you want to do for the event, all at the same time.

Some of that anniversary stuff you need to be in a raid to do (like the world bosses) so you can’t even wait in queue while doing them.
A lot of people are also probably going to be leveling alts to take advantage of the bonus xp and time walking.

Blitz is going to be here forever, but the anniversary event is only until January.

Would be my guess. such a shame since they had all this momentum with the patch hype and MMR change. all of it was squandered

You can thank duo queueing boosters that work over the matchmaking system. All that’s going to be left is win traders and boosters.

With how slow rating gain is with blitz the queues need to always be below 10 minutes.

Something I think I noticed is that there’s no longer 25 placement matches that keep you clustered around 1300-1600. This, and no spec stacking limitations likely resulted in very quick queues for most people initially, even if match quality was…less than ideal.

It’s not even working have already ran into teams with 4 hunters.

Don’t think there ever were 25 placements, at least not in my experience. I was always starting to get higher matches around the 19th-20th matches.

Sometimes you have to just let them through when 40% of the queue is hunter.

Ya that’s true lol they keep buffing MM for no reason

Yup. Just like double ret solo shuffles during the repocalypse, lol.

The damage was done I think it’s a little too late now. People already bounced after the terrible experience before this change on top of blizzard not giving a single care about blitz in general until this patch.

They broke Blitz rating system and buffed Shuffle so most people stopped doing Blitz and went to Shuffles, you get +70 rating for doing well in 1 shuffle vs coin flipping Blitz for 4 hours for +10 rating if lucky

We are all leveling our alts homie

Queues for Blitz do seem to be longer, not 4-5X, more like 2X. On the flip side there seems to be a massive reduction in the number of people dropping queue, so they may have made some changes to prevent queue manipulation.
