It ll be easier to manage Barbed Shot tho, with increased duration.
Maybe the new Cobra Shot mechanic will fit in there, as we wont be casting Barbed Shot as much. But 6 times seems a big high to get a small 10 seconds buff.

Honestly, this just proves that you don’t really have any understanding of how Hunter Pets work. For the record, using Details, my pets contribute an entire 33% of outgoing damage with basic attacks. The only ability that beats out basic attacks is, naturally, Kill Command. So when you no longer have an aura reducing pet damage by 35%, yes your pet’s basic attacks are going to now be doing more damage, which means that yes, Beast Cleave (which deals 80% of your pet’s auto attack damage to nearby targets!!!) is now going to also be doing more damage. There is a reason why Barbed Shot causes your pets to gain up to 90% attack speed; a good portion of your pet damage is going to come from auto attacks. That’s literally how the class is designed.
Further, Animal Companion has always been kind of misleading in its text. Your second pet will do everything your first pet does except for pet abilities like Claw or Bite. This means your second pet is still dealing damage with auto attacks, Kill Command, Stomp, Beast Cleave, Laceration, Basalisk Collar, and Bloodshed. This has been proved for as long as Animal Companion has existed by other players. If you’re going to pretend to know what you’re talking about, at least do research about the subject in question.
And finally, most of BM’s AoE comes from Beast Cleave. And guess what Beast Cleave does? Lets your pets with a 90% attack speed steroid damage nearby enemies with said basic attacks. Not even Stomp out damages Beast Cleave. All of this to say that AC no longer having an aura that nerfs pet basic attacks by 35% is going to result in a direct buff to Beast Cleave AoE. This is literally not rocket science.
Merciless Blows seems like a big buff for PL for Survival with the AS% buffs from Bloodsucker talent but I still hate that KC is the feature for Pack Leader.
A little concerned about losing Overshadow. Aimed shot and rapid fire got a 20 percent damage increase from this. I don’t see the damage being made up on rapid fire and aimed shot anywhere. Maybe the other skills offset this?
This feels like it could be a good thing for bm aoe but I’m not sure how useful black arrow is going to be replacing kill command and basically just being an execute, I also wonder if with the removal of the damage reduction from ac if pack leader will end up working out better too
The final dark ranger talent lets you also use it above 80%. Also don’t forget the profs where it doesn’t care about health %. I can’t wait to play this.
Another point to mention is Improved Kill Shot on the base Hunter tree is replaced with Death Blow, so Dark Ranger can Black Arrow above 80%, below 20%, and get RNG procs in between
