New Ascendance Form Suggestion

We all know Ascendance is a ludicrously out of date model that bears almost no relevance to shamanism at all at this point, looking more like a color-coded Skeletor than the pinnacle of shamanistic alignment, and that updating or replacing it has been an overwhelming desire from the shaman community for ages now.

My suggestion is instead of creating a new form, take a page from the Kurog Grimtotem encounter in Vault of the Incarnates: create a new set of armor – or repurpose an existing one, like a tier set – and give it element-coded recolors for each spec. Entering Ascendance then swaps out our current armor for this set and makes us a bit bigger and glowier with an appropriate elemental aura.

This surely must be less effort than making new full transformations, and lets us still feel like our character even in this form.

As long as Ascendance remains in its current form, I am actually despairing over what I’m going to play as Enhancement in TWW, between Stormbringer forcing that talent leaf, and Totemic being an incoherent mess that was obviously designed for Resto alone and then had Enhancement stapled onto it after the fact.

It’s a good idea, but personally I really dislike seeing my character model altered into something generic across all players. I thin the old Ascendance glyph was perfect, just have out character float into the air, have some rocks float up around them like DBZ and just call it a day.

100% agree.

Personally wouldn’t mind if Ascendance had a sort of Dathea feel too it, your character but in the center of an elemental

Self-necroing because god damn but this new form they’re showing us is only an upgrade in the sense that they would have had to dig a trench in order to go under the bar set by the current Ascendance model.

Blizzard: The core problem with Ascendance is not the outdated graphical fidelitt, it’s the theme. The old Skeletor-looking model does not remotely fit the theme or fantasy of the class, and adding color-coded troll doll hair to it does not fix that.
