New arms warrior animations

I really hope they will do something about these horrible animations for Colossus Mash (ghost weapons + “impact effect”) and Warbreaker (ghost weapons + “impact effect”) or, at least, give us a glyph before releasing the 11.1.

Warbreaker is missing its sound effects this recent build. The impact noise still works.

Too late at this point, seeing how the patch is flagged as a release candidate.

Late to the party but just wanted to add my disdain for these new animations. They look really bad and don’t match the class fantasy at all IMO.

I’m pretty sure it’s not too late even if the patch is now a release bandidate build because it means we shouldn’t expect to see many more significant changes before its release.

But making some changes or just adding a glyph for these animations aren’t really significant changes, mostly if it’s just to add a glyph. They did it for the shaman forms so why not they couldn’t do it for the animations of Colossus Mash and Warbreaker.

Maybe between 50% and 60% didn’t like the new shaman forms when other ones didn’t care or like them but they added a glyph to give us the choice. For the new arms warrior animations (Colossus Mash and Warbreaker), I think it’s pretty safe to say 90% people don’t like them so don’t add a glyph as they did it for the new shaman forms to give us the choice would be a big error.

The new animations for hunter, death knights and shamans are well done but not for the new arms warrior animations. I’m mainly speaking about the ghost weapons denaturing the warrior class. These ghost weapons are also too discrepancies with the warrior class. Being able to hide them with a glyph could make these animations better for Colossus Mash and Warbreaker. Sure it won’t be perfect but, at least, people could have the choice to see or not these ghost weapons and it won’t be a significant change too (because now the patch is a release bandidate build).

I really doubt they will redo entirely these animations for Colossus Mash and Warbreaker (they just made some changes for the new shaman forms and they added a glyph to give us the choice). So I prefer to get a glyph to hide these ghost weapons over nothing.

So shamans can get love with glyphs for their new forms but also with their new thunder animation, death knight can get some love, hunter can get a lot of love but arms warrior must deal with these animations for Colossus Mash and Warbreaker without any options?

Even if these go live the feedback will continue.

These animations are just really bad. I prefer the old ones.

I don’t understand why we can’t even have a glyph to hide these ghost weapons or to keep the old animations like shaman get for their new forms. I don’t like these ghost weapons and it disrupts me so much.

Update:

So it seems the fix of the previous week “delete” the ghost weapons for Colossus Mash and reduce the ghost weapons to one for Warbreaker.

Colossus Mash new animation is far better than the previous one and Warbreaker new animation is a little better than the previous one.

Colossus Mash seems to be ok now. Warbreaker could be a little better but I prefer this one to the previous animation.

Here are a video to show you the result we should get on retail soon (with the old animations + the new animations (old versions) + the new animations (fixed versions)):

Colossus Smash, I’m actually fine with that new one now. Warbreaker still sucks though. That spin animation is awful. It really takes away the sense of power and impact from the ability. But it also just looks clunky with how it suddenly switches from spinning to an overhead smash. I get what they’re going for with it but it feels like they missed some crucial frames in the animation.

And still with the spectral weapons! They just look ridiculous!

Overall, just leave Warbreaker with the current big slam animation, and have the same new shield breaking animations above all the enemies. That along with some solid sound effects is all that is required!

I use Colossus Mash for my arms warriors so I’m happy to see this new animation for Colossus Mash. I prefer this one by far. :dracthyr_heart:

But I agree for Warbreaker, it still needs some little improvements. We should get a glyph to hide the ghost weapons too (or remove them).

I tend to use warbreaker but I might start just using colossus smash on principle :stuck_out_tongue:
I only do delves, so I don’t need to be particularly optimal.

Warbreaker was changed on the premise of improving the visual clarity of its range, but then the target dummy off to the left side is still struck by the ability despite being well away from the weapon impact. The whole “visual upgrade” is pointless and just adds more clutter.

Hello. We’d like to acknowledge that we have been working from the reactions and thoughts posted in this thread (and other threads).

Our art and combat design teams are iterating on these animations, and they expect to have further updates to be tested in a future patch.

We appreciate that so much! We’ll look for it in the future.

Thank you!

I really prefer this result we have now compared to the previous one for Colossus Mash.

Colossus Mash new animation is nice now. :dracthyr_yay_animated:

Now, Warbreaker new animation needs some little improvements to be nice too.
