They are super lame. Please try again blizz.
Very cool.
The devs fascination with summons on classes where it doesn’t make sense bothers me. First there’s the upcoming pack leader ability to summon random animals that are not from my stable on my survival hunter. Now there’s the new arms warrior animations that are even worse, especially warbreaker. On a DK, summoned or ghost items (used sparingly) wouldn’t be out of place. On a warrior they don’t make sense and it’s a massive mistake. These animations need to be reverted and redone.
What if blizzard decided to use a version of HULK SMASH for warbreaker?
something akin to that, but with the weapon in hand and just smashing the ground really hard to the point so much ground is coming up.
I think every warrior animation should be done like they’re the hulk. How would the Hulk look when he’s hitting things or smashing things? He’s a warrior.
The hilarious part is that it took you like 20 mins to come up with this which is 100% better than what they did.
But designers don’t have idea how to come up with a good animation when is their field of employment for what id say like 4 to 5 yrs. And this is you just putting some effort into these guys have a salary where this should be a 101 for them. Basic to design something good…
No wonder half the animations they come up with suck.
Like if you love the specs you were designing for, you’d look at that and be like nah that’s not good enough, and actually put effort into… It does looks good for a mobile game though.
The old animations were a lot better. Warbreaker is really bad.
Yikes, these animations are absolutely hideous… If you do decide to put this steaming pile of hot garbage in please give us a glyph to keep it how it is now at least.
Having the gigantic, badly delayed, and visually intrusive shield break animation over the head of every enemy hit is so bad. Didn’t even notice the Dancing Rune Weapon lost in all that visual vomit.
How did this get past the concept stage, let alone a PTR build?
The new animation have to go away when it comes to Warbreaker. The drop in FPS and clutter is not something anyone wants.
Please change it Blizz
Got time to add some goofyass animations that no one asked for but have yet to fix the sound bug for certain races that are warriors. Good job Blizz…
You ask too much. warriors are a backburner spec. If u want attention, go pally…
Your “scrounging together” looks leaps and bounds better than what was presented to us by a multi-million (maybe billion) dollar company.
I don’t think this is something that should be in even as a glyph to be honest.
I don’t want to be rude to the artists and all but it’s just too far off. Way too much. It just needs to be scrapped and either leave it alone or make something else entirely.
Here is a simple idea: Legion’s Warbreaker earth spikes but earth color instead of purple, for example. A little bit of polishing and that would look sick.
I absolutely do not want this animation. This is not it.
Why is this so funny
So I re-examined the animation for Warbreaker a bit more, and I do like the idea behind the movement. It seemlessly shifts from the Whirlwind animation to the 2HBig02 end animation, giving the visual that the warrior is using the momentum to slam their weapon on the ground.

This set of animations is better used for the talent Blunt Instruments though, as this seems more like a precise strike than one used with reckless abandon.
The spin and swing isn’t bad but loses massively in terms of weight/“heftyness” on the hit. Warbreaker is a hit so strong it shatters/damages the armor of all enemies around you, a jump and crush conveys the idea of AoE better than this because with this, the strike portion of the attack is only hitting one target.
I’d use this spin and swing animation for something like mortal strike while sweeping strikes is active (like how execute changes to a bloody cleave animation).
I agree with this. I liked the motion, so I was trying to think of a compromise to keep that animation sequence, and I agree that itd be a good fit for Mortal Strike. Not only that, Mortal Strike doesnt have an animation correlating with Sweeping Strikes, so that would definitely work.
You mean it used to. Sadly they either broke it or took it out as sweeping strikes no longer plays a cleave style animation when it’s active and honestly I miss that.
Yeah exactly
