While those are a lot of fair points, they already have experience with the “borrowed power” that soulbinds and the like give so they know what to expect. They have much less experience making a rogue like.
The lack of substance for announced changes and the lack of changes in the last month do indeed have me apprehensive, but it makes me hope that they are working on it rather than just tuning what we have. Otherwise we would have seen tuning.
I get the feeling that they are working on updates to BFA with the new buyable corruptions and helping the wc3 reforged team and the likes, that they are not working on shadowlands as much as they should be. We’ll soon be pushing 2 months with no communication.
Love to create my own problems by having multi-tiered borrowed power systems during the last six months of an expansion that I try to fix into being more equitable when it no longer really matters and should just be roflstomp fun with everyone being overpowered instead of focusing 100% of my energy into the next expansion so as to not repeat the same exact mistakes I’ve had since implementing the borrowed power style of game development to have a 2 year “feels like new” cycle that mirrors a sort of gamer “broken windows” policy.
My philosophy is once again borrowed power is going to attempt to make Warlock feel good and flow, they literally havnt said much at all on legendaries which we create and customise.
Just wait and see their will be a Baleful and Implosion choices for legendaries, which is going to be horrible as once again it’s going to take end game for the specs to finally flow and be decent, while other classes are just going to enhance the gameplay they already have…
If you think about it, we now have four talent trees:
Normal PVE Talent Tree
PVP Talent tree
Legendaries We Will Make that we already know are recycling Azerite and Legion Legendary abilities/passives
Torghast-only anima power builds
Hate it
but also nah I think SPriest is about the same place as Warlocks. Great numbers-wise, but in terms of Quality of Life or longevity/flow of the design, in the gutter
I’m telling you, I’m gonna skitz it if the legendaries abilities is the fixes we been asking for to help the specs rather then just enhancing what we have…
Imagine that, have to wait till end game, then literally farm for god knows how long to have decent game play…
I can see it now, Baleful and implosion will be the first legendaries to create, then prob one to make Tyrant instant cast with supremacy… and I bet their will be one that makes demonic calling baseline opening that talent tree so we can select improved doom, as I think they going to try pressure players into selecting that talent…
Edit: In all honesty I hope…I really hope I’m wrong, but it’s just hard to see Blizzard with their track record do things great with Warlocks… out side of numbers we will always have a viable spec in terms of numbers, but it’s the gameplay, QoL, fun to play that worries me…
That’s why I loved MoP Warlocks so much, they were all great and fun to play…god do I miss MoP Demo…I’d do anything to get that back…
They need to fix the specs and make them good to play BEFORE all the cool soulbind, tierset, and legendary systems.
BfA had no fixes to lock PLUS the lack of tier sets and legendarys. Gimped corruption and aserite armour didn’t make up for it. Essences were the only DECENT system.
Omg… I’m so glad I have a warlock leveled! This is seriously a game changer to me.
On the bright side, it will eliminate the need of glyphs to customize demons, as you have a much bigger option pool just going out there and enslaving what you like.
I hope this is true and it makes to live!
Edit: OP you should change the thread title to reflect on the true point of interest of the thread!
Yeah, although I’m not really holding my breath for bosses themselves. Maybe a few exceptions?
What I’m excited for, in my head:
Void-tainted demon variants because my Warlock is a void elf;
Imp mother, replacing the imp. I know she’s huge, but maybe they can shrink them around the size of the Wrathguard or a bit bigger. Hunters can run around with pretty big stuff anyway;
Maybe some warlocks could get a variant for the voidwalker, like a pure demon.
If this were to happen it would confirm my theory of Diablo 3 secretly being a prelude to monsters inc and that Azmodan was Mr. Watermoose when he was younger.
Getting back on topic. New voice acting for our demons could be cool and if that demon stable rumor is true then using the same old voice lines for all the demons would not be a good idea.
