So, I’m guessing I’m doing something wrong but it appears that we also have no choice when it comes to purchasing an item from the AH by price. I have never purchase an item from the AH that is priced at 1 copper ( even 1 gold) less the the next lowest priced item. Now, because the lowest priced item is auto highlighted, we have to purchase from that line ???
/walks away thinking: " that’s too bad"
Well I sure don’t miss that one fool that would post 1 item for 1 copper a 100 times making me scroll through pages of AH to find a seller with multiple items of that same product.
Click on the item before you buy it to open the page showing each of that item.
Then you can choose which to buy.
Pretty sure that only works with equipment. If you click a different price on a trade good, your order is set to every available unit at that price, as well as every unit at cheaper prices.
Like so.
To be perfectly honest though, I don’t mind having to pay the lower price with the new setup, especially if the stack is on the small side. At least the smaller stacks feel like I’m paying another player who’ll actually use the gold, as opposed to a multiboxer/hoarder/AH baron who’s gonna sit on the cash, even if it’s not really true.
The new auction house is a huge improvement.
The new AH is ‘good’ for the kinds of buyers who are fine buying items undercut by 1s and for high volume/high frequency sellers.
Blizz actually kind of copied how Auctionator worked in the most basic of ways, but left out the parts that allowed all buyers and sellers more freedom to buy/sell how they pleased. So the folks who really like the new AH are buyers who basically failed at using the old AH or are hardcore sellers who 'sit their auctions many, times within a 12-24 hour period.
the new AH lets you fave items so you don’t even have to search half the time once you set it up. just go in get what you need and get out. vs before which of the 10 different flasks named roughly the same thing the one you want. same for potions, food etc. no need to type anything just click.
Thanks everyone for getting back to me on this. I’m ok with the new AH and yes I also ‘do not miss that one fool that would post 1 item 100’s of times’. However, I have ‘a thing’ about people that undercut by 1 copper. It’s not a big thing…just a thing. The AH now is an improvement to what we had though.
/waves
The only people mad about the changes are the ones who were breaking the AH with single stacks of monelite ore, anchor weed, or w/e to try and milk every last dime: even if it crashes the servers and makes the game unplayable.
Cutting by a copper can work well for everyone.
Years back there were 3 players on my realm regularly posting the dino hatchlings picked up from eggs. We would undercut each other by 1 copper only because that way we didn’t tank the price. When there were none on auction the next of us to post would return the price to a little above our usual selling price.
As we were happy to share the chance to sell, and none of us reposted before the 48 hour timer ran out or we got a sale, we each got to sell our share at the price we wanted.
You still won’t be able to purchase an item that UCs by 1c because the new AH doesn’t register coppers. So it’s all good.
No one should be undercutting by a copper to get their item to show up higher on the list any more.
The auction house will automatically sell the most recent listings at a given price before it will sell the older ones. That removes the need to undercut because your items are automatically going to sell sooner than someone who posted yesterday lets say.
yeah…I was using auctionator to get around that joke, but I deleted it specifically so I could pay a little more and buy the stuff from the people who WERENT pulling that crap.
soo happy with the AH changes.
Correct. Copper doesn’t register in the AH anymore.
Incorrect. The items are still displayed lowest price first. Not by time. The only instance when first in first out applies is when the same item is listed at the same price.
Dude. See the screenshot above in this thread for an example.
Which is why most of used Auctionator addon which allowed us to spam buy things by specifying the amount. Now that addon is irrelevant with the new welcomed changes to the AH
You’re not understanding this.
I said in my quote exactly what you said in your statement when you said I was incorrect.
Ah! I see it now. Sorry about the misunderstanding. =)
We still need a “I’d like to purchase this item at this cost” auto buyout option
