Anyone else noticed how the price of vendor mounts started skyrocketing around the same time WoW Tokens were added to the game?

Purely coincidence I’m sure!

They are using the mounts as a gold sink…pretty clear with all the gold mounts this expansion

Could be or they slap a high price tag to it and want people to farm more. Also, it gives the people with a large amount of gold something else to buy.

As a guy with the 5M mount … getting tired of super expensive mounts.

It’s no secret they want us buy tokens. The reason the new rep mounts are 90k a pop lul. 3 tokens for 3 mounts blizz can take that and put it, you can guess.

Not all of us have a lot of gold. Not all of us use are playing time to make gold. Many of these mounts cost more than all the gold I have and I will never buy a token to get a mount.

It’s kind of discouraging.

So they want us to buy tokens by introducing… cheaper gold sink mounts?

You classify 90k for a rep mount as cheap? We must have different definitions. So yes, I would have to buy 3 tokens to have that much gold just to buy 3 rep mounts.

How much did the trio of Frog mounts before these cost? What about the Auctionsaurus before them?

10mil in gold sinks to this point, I would say they want us to buy tokens.

By introducing cheaper and cheaper mounts?

How is 500k+ a “cheaper and cheaper” mount? These costs are cumulative in an xpac with far lower gold gain then the last 2.

It’s the excaption so far.

Auctionsaurus was 5,000,000g

Froggies were 333,333g a piece

Rep Mounts (x6) are 90,000g

and now we’re back up to this one with 524,888g. Apparently. That’s an oddly specific price.

Edit: Ah, this was pointed out on Wowhead: “Mildly interesting, and possibly intentional, is that 524,288 is the number of bytes in 512 kibibytes.”

Also they’re not sure yet if Rep discounts apply.

I want a mount that’ll randomly stop moving and refuse to do anything unless I feed it WoW tokens.

Like I said these mount costs are cumulative and their total price far exceeds what most of us can do in an xpac. Even doing the gold missions from last xpac on 4 characters didn’t come close to this.

Total gold sinks 10mil to this point, capish?

6,764,287g

i thougt gold was capped at 999,999

how do you buy a 5mil mount?

Well, consider it something to work towards, if it is a mount that you want.

I would say so, yea. Although it is interesting to note that a regular rep mount now is only 30k less than the Grand Expedition Yak, which comes with a vendor and an xmog.

9,999,999.

Thanks but I’m already getting two mounts from Mechagon.

A ground mount which comes as a reward for completing a quest line, grinding and handing in mats. The Wheel mount for completing a meta achievement.

Neither fly but I been wanting a new ground mount since bfa launched and I think that wheel one may just be it.

Then theres the Bee mount.

TLDR: You dont have to buy it unless your a hardcore collector in which case you’ve probably already prepared for getting it.
