So I just made a group for a Mythic+ HoA and had invited this DK from Azralon, the run went alright for the first couple of pulls but as we got further this guy kept pulling ahead of the tank even though we weren’t finished yet with our last pull and our healer needing to drink and back off for the most time because of spiteful affix, so I told him to go “ez on the pulls bro” and he doesn’t say anything, after a few more pulls the healer accidentally got killed by a shade and he pulls the boss knowing the healer was dead and had to run back, so we asked we asked him “why did you pull? the healer wasn’t here” and replied with “only me and tank interrupting” not sure what he meant by that but we weren’t gonna do that boss without the healer so I told him “it doesn’t matter, the healer wasn’t in the fight, why did you pull?” then he replies back with “toxic cancer” “lose your key” and then leaves the group. We weren’t behind on time and we could have easily got the Key and this guy suddenly left because apparently I was “toxic cancer”. We still finished the dungeon but unfortunately barely made it on time with only 4 of us.
So at least now I understand why people show a lot of animosity towards these Azralon players, with my years of playing and doing Mythic+ runs I’ve never experienced anything or anyone doing something like that.
From this day I will never invite anyone from Azralon ever again.
Azralon has a lot of problem players idek what is going on but it is an eyeroll and a tilting experience whenever I see that server. GL to the poor Azralon-ites!
I’ve had probably about 5 groups and 5 of 5 bad pills, bad performance, pull exactly like what he is explaining in OP. Etc.
Yeah it sucks to generalize servers like that because there’s people like this on every server, but people need to understand that there’s a reason that those servers are disliked by a lot of the player base & it’s because of things like this.
There are, but when your experience is like a coin flip of being normal or terrible, you tend to associate that choice with terrible. I could pick Azralon and have a normal player, or have just as equal chance to lose my key… hmmm think I’ll avoid that server.
Yeah i had someone in a bg from azralon sit afk in a hut, damage and healing all game was legit at 0 not even joking. I say something like can you guys leave the huts? and he starts cussing me out calling me horrible etc etc. And i’ve seen other players from azralon do the same to other people.
And it’s not like they can come here and defend their server bc they can’t speak english well lol
As someone who played on Azralon for a long time, I can relate…
Azralon is a Brazilian realm, and a lot of people there barely understand english, as they play the game in Portuguese. The problem of the system is that still they are able to join groups formed entirely by english speakers and they just ignore the chat and try to type the only few words they know (mostly offensive stuff).
I could bring the whole discussion to a cultural level of my country, but it would open up another kind of social discussion that’s not worth for now.
Basically, of course there are amazing brazilian players (ones of the best i’ve played with), but a huge part of us are really clueless about how the game itself works and just want to go like mad pulling everything they can.
Its sad, but I transfered to an US server and I blend among people from other countries, as I dont have the patience to play with people from my own country.
Unfortunately, I usually avoid to invite people from Azralon, Nemesis and Goldrinn because I dont trust em for pugs. Even being able to talk to them and understand them, it’s not worth it, for me.
Either way, all my friends who were great players over here have migrated by rerolling, most of them choosing Stormrage, to avoid the prejudice created by the majority of our realm’s fellow players.
The hatred/prejudice exist for a reason.
Since I don’t care about organized group play that much anymore, I chose to stick to the realm, in hopes of having a (physically) local server over here some day. It’d be great to play with sub 100ms latency.

Add to that the fact that gaming is seen as something strictly for children in BR, so the toxicity you’re encountering is likely coming from teens or younger.

Well, thats the “cultural discussion” I would pull us into.
Its basically that.
Most brazilians are selfish by culture. They dont care if they wont be able to understand the group or mess it up, they just want to try to get some loot. If the group fails, its just “another american who got screwed HUEHUEHUE”
Like I said, its not everybody who thinks and plays that way, but unfortunately thats the most common kind of player you will get from BR servers.
Did wowhead hire someone who speaks Portuguese to translate every page? And the helpful comments sections on wowhead where end up getting most of my information?
