Never turtle too hard

If you turtle too hard you will kill the Q’s for BG’s, be this Warsong or AV, it really does not matter much what game you’re playing.

Lets put it a different way; YOU are dependent on casual players to Q up and play if you want to PVP, YOU then should be aware that if the games become too painful for them they will quit playing. This does not matter if its Horde or Allies, its the exact same on both factions, they both have great players and both have crappy players and both have toxic players and team players, and so on.

YOU the every player be you geared or be you scrubby, are a component of a greater whole no matter how you look at it.

TLDR, don’t turtle too hard; its fine to wipe the horde or allies on their Zug pulls but after you do, swap modes and go help the rest of the team progress or capture towers, return flags, etc. Its not any different than Grave yard camping in WSG; I avoid doing this most of the time because I want people to Q so I can PVP.

Consider that, if you like PVP, don’t make it too much a nightmare for the other guy; no matter who you are or what faction you play because I know most of us play both.

As long as undead rogues exist I have no sympathy for the horde lol

His point is, have sympathy for yourself. If you make games too unbearable you’ll find yourself with nobody to play with.

Kinda like all those P2 Horde who camped Alliance so hard they all transferred off the server and then complained that their world pvp was dead. Like, congrats on winning Azeroth, but now what?

I don’t think people even realize their doing this. There was a lot of Alliance games this weekend where Horde made an effort to turtle. I think twice I was able to motivate Alliance into pushing around the Field of Strife to take IBGY and reverse the turtle before Horde got control of SHGY and put the nail in the coffin.

Most of the time people either just mill about following the zerg, or complain that we should all rush Drek and win fast. I’m like, “Fellas, that ship has sailed long ago. Either try to break it so we can all get outta here in under 40 minutes or AFK out. Those are the only choices.” I think the zug is strong on both sides and people don’t really pay attention, they just chase red.

You’re right though… if you chase everybody out people will stop playing. I finished my cap on Sunday afternoon and tried playing a bit of Horde to see what the other side was like. It was abysmal and so I got my paltry 34k cap on my Shammy and logged out. I could have definitely played more but not worth. I went and watched a movie with my partner.

Side note, Paradise on Netflix is a weird, semi-nonsense foreign sci-fi movie that I’m not sure how I feel about. Other than a dumb ending it feels like it had potential… maybe?

interesting, sounds like the mini series 1899 where they started strong and then went the modern day “Science” explains it rout; never works out because science is interesting but has been over used and abused. Example being Zombie movies / shows that are explained by plagues… I would prefer the Undead rather than plague zombies that would in practice if this is “Science” be devoured by insects and wildlife within weeks. Plague zombie flix seem to forget how ridiculously OP nature actually is… hell even the environmentalists tend to forget how OP nature actually is thinking that its some feeble weakling that cant recover; simply is not true and has never been true.

Do you want Zombie Bears? Because this is how you get Zombie Bears!

SO much more interesting.

People have never understood this and I do think p2 is the excellent example. To use rat psychology, since humans and rats are so similar (so many people just exploded in rage at that thought), the dominant rat must let the weaker rat win or get close to winning in at least 30% of the games it plays in order for the weaker rat to want to engage in play time. If the weaker rat feels it has no chance it simply does not play with the other rat, which leads to both rats feeling socially isolated.

aka: did you ever notice how the one kid who whooped butt at super smash bros and refused to let other people win a few games ended up with no one to play with?

This is a big truth. If there’s no chance of winning, there’s another game that will give that chance.

I love turtles and ill defend banana with my life

I’ll raise you an apple, and defend with a pear.

every defender as a huge pear so understandable

keep your eyes peared on the horizon

While each side will sometimes turtle purposely, often its a result of the other teams actions which create the the turtle, as example, while initially there might be some defenders, ultimately more and more will be pushed back “turtling” in their base, yet the problem is they can’t actually escape their base, and the “turtling” is often a result of an extremely strong roaming group thats taking every graveyard, tower, and where the losing “Turtling” side will have a single respawn site that forces the turtle, this is further reinforced by other side ruthlessly killing anyone who tries to actually push forward, sending them back to their base, strengthening the turtle. All while they whine and cry about the “turtling” in chat, ignoring the fact that it was their own actions which sent everyone back to the base creating the problem.

turtling is generally pretty weak energy from people whom I wouldn’t enjoy their company I imagine.

Just play the game

Some matches last 5 minutes and some last 50

It is what it is

Turtle AVs are the most fun and they typically happen organically since it is a group effort.

Refusing to cap a flag and just farming people at the graveyard is toxic gameplay.

It’s not really possible to kill queues for AV during AV weekend.

Yup, this is specifically what I’m talking about, but it’s a bit more science rooted than my pleb explanation.
