Ive been playing wow since 2005 or 6. I loved this game and I was totally absorbed for more than 10 years or maybe more.
I put my account on hold but I doubt Ill ever return. My reasons arent all the ususual and I have nothing to rage about except old age and PVP total boredom.
Im 74 now my dexterity isnt what it was for sure and WOW just takes too much of my life like it always has.
What put me over the edge however is my very long patient wait for blizz to do something for scrub battleground players. The players that dont want the pressure of rated bgs or arenas. I was never great at this game in PVP but in the beginning my first level 60 I was pretty damn good, I made warlord and Conqueror and had a blast, now not at all. Blizz biggest mistake in the game was creating Arenas and in the process creating a group of pvpers who think they are the only ones that count in pvp...They get the best of everything, all because there are players that CHOOSE not to do rated bgs
Theres been zero new BGs, just a couple of refreshs of old bgs. There are bgs that are hated that blizz wont take out of the rotation. Gear Disparity now is ridiculous and far worse than it ever was...but the main reason if there were to be one is
Having to take abuse in most every bg, by super geared rated players and geared pve guys that are bored and just jump in scrub bgs to just beat everyone in the ground relentlessly and to taunt them that they suck because they have NO rating or a low rating,..its relentless and its constant and its not worth the aggravation.
Blizzard has created Elite Pvpers that can come in and destroy everyone else at will in battlegrounds just for giggles...because blizz has created an incredible gear disparity.
Im going to wait 6 months If I dont change my mind by then ill give away everything I have and just poooof.....Dont take this as im angry, im not just very bored and tired of not having any chance at all against players that are far better geared PVP and PVE.

Well said. There are so many different and better ways they could have handled it. Now it’s just a mess with crazy iLevel differences.

I almost want to thank Blizzard for ruining WoW casual PvP. I’m more likely than ever to finally kick this addiction.
There are other worlds (MMOs) than these.

I can admit to being a scrub casual too. Nonetheless, Random Battlegrounds kept me subbed and playing the ENTIRE length of Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor. Disparity is a big issue for me as well. Fraudulent players purchasing boosts for the gear is a large issue of Blizzard Entertainment’s integrity - It truly feels like they are just constructing these systems with the knowledge that players will purchase WoW Tokens for boosting.
For Comparison:
- Overwatch: Only 10% of the playerbase is Diamond or above.
- WoW: 70%-80% of the playerbase is running around with 1800 bracket gear (1800 the equivalent of Diamond).
I will return and play entire expansions again if either happens:
1.) No rewards until 2100 and 2400 and only make it 1 piece of armor or weapon (make it hard for boosters to boost unskilled players; higher chance of fair play for all).
2.) Just return with equal PvP Conquest gear – Fairest option allowing skill to be King and high skilled/rated players to retain player reputation/glory within the community.

I can get 2500 in bgs, but barely gold in OW. I wouldn’t call 1800 equivalent to .diamond

It’s really not fun for anyone. I used to queue random BGs all the time, now I mostly just queue arena skirmishes instead. Blizzard gutted RBGs with their gearing changes. I got 2 wins after reset for the weekly today, I probably won’t queue another RBG until next week. Last season I played hundreds of RBGs.
If it wasn’t for me finding arena fun, and being able to play WoW at work, I would just unsub.

Historically Challenger has been like ~1600 which was only 35% of participants over 1k rating.

no ratings required to partysync and enjoy pvp in the lower brackets. you can even equip and use the boa trinkets and neck that have on use features. bring your own food to eat since you wont be able to set out pvp food(weird) and some stacks of things like shieldtronic shield or battle potions. never worry about gear again!

This expac has alot of cool mounts. I think more than any other expac and that’s why I’ve been playing collecting them. Cuz I sure haven’t been pvp’ing for most of the reasons listed.
