I mean, you understand that this coin has 2 sides, right? If the majority of the group wants to go fast and do big pulls, you’re the outlier in that group. So, stay with the team instead of dragging your rear.

I was a tank for 15 years, started in Wrath… I’ve not so much given up now but I don’t find it nearly as fun when I have to pull THE ENTIRE DUNGEON up to the boss or get kicked… but I guess I’m in the minority at this point.

Except that’s never been what we’re talking about in here. Certain seedier individuals shifted it to “but what if the group wants to go fast”. Issue was a guy being bashed for going too fast and certain individuals trying to say “they should’ve kept up.” If you have to leave group members behind to feel good about yourself, you’re the problem. You won’t change my mind on that.
They kinda did, though. The tank sets the pace, it’s the group’s responsibility to keep up. If the tank overpulls and causes a wipe, that’s a mistake and one they should correct.
Noone should be bashed for anything, and who is saying people are doing it to ‘feel good about themselves’. For some people, timewalking and heroic dungeons are trivial content. Blizzard overrewards the trivial content in the form of weeklies, so you get a mix of individuals like this. If you wanna blame anyone, blame Blizzard.
Have you tried tanking with friends in the party? It becomes fun once you have a person or a few people on the same page.
You were doing so well, getting your point across without being long winded, even if your points were, moot… I’m just gonna assume you didn’t really say anything of relevance or importance, which seems to be your shtick. If me or my friends are leading, you have no say in how the dungeon is being ran, it’s that simple.
You are focused on que content and no one really takes que complaints seriously.
What you do in your private runs is your business. Otherwise you don’t get to dictate to other people in public content as though you’re some wannabe king. Sorry you’re not that important. Stick with the group or go do your “s00p3r l33t” private runs. Those are your options.

You can keep shouting into the wind about all of these things, it’s not going to change reality, if I am the tank… I dictate the pace, you know your options. If it’s a group of my own or my friend’s creation you comply or you get kicked. Where is the hang up? I do appreciate that you think we’re so amazing at the game though.

And you need to get over your arrogance and know your options yourself. What you do in your “s00p3r l33t” private groups is your business. The moment you step into a public group however it’s not about you anymore but the group. If the group says you’re pulling too fast as the tank then you’re pulling too fast and are in the wrong. You can either slow down or get kicked. As you said, where’s the hang up on that? Stick with the group or get kicked.
I know it’s not just about me, but as the tank “I SET THE PACE” I’m not asking you for permission to take charge as the tank. You don’t like my pace? Kick me. I’ve yet to be kicked and I’ll more than like never be kicked from any, “que-based group” because I’m not getting stuck with many low skill karens like yourself. Git gud and learn to keep up, I’m not your friend, father or even an acquaintance… you’ll be kicked LONG before the idea of kicking me arises.
So you say it’s not about you, but you’re not going to ask permission and are going to just start barking orders about keep up or get out. Yeah that’s not how that works.
If you’re as skilled as you expect all of us to believe you wouldn’t be trying to convince anyone, your ability would speak for itself. Based on you not knowing to stick with the group in your public runs, I don’t believe you when you say you haven’t been kicked. And don’t worry I will happily kick anyone like yourself trying to be a Leeroy if given the chance and have done so several times. As the old saying goes “there’s no I in the word team” and there’s also another little part involving the empty hole of the letter A and people trying to make the team all about them being what fills that empty space.

That is how it works, I’m not asking someone who’s done literally nothing in his gaming history to try and dictate what I’m doing. Lol.
I expect people to be competent. I don’t need them to be good, they just need to know how to play the game, their class and how to keep up. I don’t care what you believe, you’re offering opinions as facts and have next to no actual experience outside of que dungeons. Why should I take what you say to heart, you’re que trash.

Everyone in this thread is over exaggerating. I leveled 4 characters through timewalking (roughly 120+ runs) and not once did anyone pull other than the tank. There was the occasional pat that came by and someone accidently aggrod. But nothing to the extent of what you’re complaining about. If you have a group who is pulling ahead of you as a tank, then leave the group or kindly ask them to stop.
