Got my pally tank to 80, start gearing up in heroics and doing the timewalking weekly, multiple groups i get 1.8k io clown dps/healer duos running so far ahead of me pulling the entire dungeon + bosses and disregarding the rest of the group, cant vote kick any of them cause theyre duo.
Theres no point in me even tanking, im also going at a pretty fast pace because i know the dungeons pretty well but it doesnt make a difference. Character is shelfed
It’s okay, I shelved my Rogue until the 22nd. I refuse to press Feint again while it is attached to a GCD, especially since I know it’s being removed.
I straight up told my raid in voice that I wish I had a Disc Priest Pain Supping me in raid. Externals are literally non existent in the raids I’ve ran and I have to spam 4 HP consumes.
Why most tanks go DPS. People abuse tanks and wonder why there’s no tanks…
Yeah sorry OP, i wouldnt even attempt tanking right now in the current version of the game. The tank used to be the one to set the pace, and as long as it was a decent speed everyone was content. Now you will never ever be fast enough for the autistic ADHD combo retail zoomers that can’t sit still or their brain starts to rot.
Ive quit all group content, delves have been a godsend. Try them out if you haven’t.

I pull pretty fast on my tank too and people still pull for me. Once you get into mythic+ it doesn’t happen nearly as much.
In that situation, I just run behind the DPS while pressing zero buttons and the only thing I will do is taunt when they get low. That’s literally all you need to do. Just stop pressing buttons and taunt stuff.
Reminds me of Classic tanking where every single tank in a dungeon was a dual wielding Fury Warrior and you just had to deal with it. In this case, your tanks are now the DPS running ahead of you and you’re just a threat bot.
I tanked my first couple M+ the past couple days - complete opposite experience.
I was able to hand pick chads and it made the runs much easier. Tanking is also pretty easy.
Had one failed run because of a Warrior that doesn’t know how to aim poison waves, but it happens.
i went dps. now it’s easy street.
Well, yeah, it’s Heroics and Timewalking.
They’re braindead easy. I’m not saying DPS should pull like maniacs without the tank, but I am saying there is very little, if any, risk to doing so when mobs drop like flies.
1 dungeon and you’re calling it? Doesn’t really seem like you gave the role much of a chance. I’ve been in dungeons where the tank failed to hold aggro on trash they pull, should I not be giving them a break because those types of runs are few & far between? I also rarely see dungeons where other dps pull. I see plenty when it’s the healer but rarely when it’s a dps. That’s the “joy” of playing with strangers though.
You decided to use the io as an insult, which ia a big part of the problem in the community. So I’d say you might be the issue.

unfortunately blizz has gone with the design that anything below m+ people dont even need the tank role. should just be 4 dps 1 healer or 5 dps at this point.
in m+ its a little different.
I get the complaint though, ive been in the same boat before. I always go to slow in dungeons but I can’t get out of the old school mind set of one or two groups per pull.
Edit: timewalking especiallt, those barely constitute as a challenge. I think I’ll be moving fast taking but I’ll see the healer running ahead pulling. It’s different but as long as it’s not a wipe *shrug
My friend invited a tank to M0 who was 25 ilvls below us. At that point, I would’ve just taken 4 DPS. Not only was his gear bad, but he would just pull mobs by himself with none of the group around him in Dawnbreaker. We would wipe, he’d be the first one up, then immediately go pull with no one alive.
These type of tanks I assume are 14 years old, I dunno. There’s no brain function going on in there.
