This Creepypasta is based on a real story, you have been warned.
When I first started playing World of Warcraft during the Classic days of WoW I created my first character, a Human Paladin by the name of Aldroia. I played through TBC, WotLK, Cata and ended up taking a break at the start of Mists. When I found out about BfA I came back and expected Aldroia to be there during patch day. Much to my surprise, she wasn’t. I took to Reddit and asked around, no one answered. I went to the WoW forums, no one answered either. I waited for a response for about a week, I then got a reply from a developer on Reddit. He went by Jaloesph in WoW and informed that because of account inactivity the character had to be deleted because another player wanted access to the name for a Human Paladin. Astounded by the response, I asked for the character back. The developer informed me if I choose to go through with this, there would be dire consequences for it. I was adamant and got the character back, I logged into the game excited to see Aldroia once more. Instead I saw nothing but, an unknown entity on the character select screen. I then heard a voice through my computer saying “Why did you come back for me?” I then heard a blood curdling scream and my computer turned off on it’s own. Shocked by this I turned my computer back on. Instead, an instance of WoW came on and showed my character, being stabbed as blood ran down my character’s body and face with more blood curdling screams. I tried to turn my computer off but to no avail. I unplugged my monitor and the computer itself, nothing worked as I had to listen to knives cutting Aldroia’s flesh until the computer finally turned off. To this day, I never played on patch day ever again and ended up not creating anymore Human Paladins. I still remember the trauma and I got counseling and therapy to help me cope with what had happened.
