Never have I cared less

How much did any character evolve in BFA?

Desperate, the lore team and the writers are desperate. And it shows, ewwww…

Treng, characters didn´t “evolve” in BfA. They all “devolved” into something worse than they were at the start. Even Jaina went into her 3rd (or is it 4th?) iteration of the Bipolar histerical woman that suddenly forgives the Horde cause “muh Thrall” or some other inane reason, lol…

However my point is still very much valid. Positive representantion in game makes fan favorites from former memes (ergo, Lor´themar after Thunder Isle. Heck, people liked him even for Warchief back then and that´s quite the massive improvement from his player perception of the Cata era).

How many characters devolved in BFA, then?

It wasn’t until Disney started doing it with Star Wars did I realize just how underhanded having all these books dealing with the story are as a concept, and Blizzard’s been doing it for a while now. It used to be a book would give a bit of backstory to stuff we already knew, like the Arthas novel, or they’d be side stories, like Day of the Dragon.

But since Cata it’s become more and more an issue of ‘if you don’t buy this book, you won’t know what’s really going on!!!’, and this is no exception.

I’m seeing comments like these more and more and I’m not sure I understand what the problem is. Haven’t WC3 characters had more than their fair share of the spotlight? Haven’t enough characters been killed over the years with a fraction as many new ones taking their place?

Regardless of how he came to be, isn’t a brand new and young character something we should be happy about and want more of?

Oh, I’m sorry, I’ve only been getting called mudhut(a derogatory term for people with a similar view of the Horde as myself) on the forums for 3+ years for having the slightest issue with Warchief Sylvanas and am constantly told to switch factions because my view of the Horde is different the those of others.

But please, tell me more about how you’ve been made fun of?

I. Myself. did in fact notice this. (Cuz I’m not part of some lynch mob as you so depict me) However, at this point it wasn’t relevant as the problem had already started back at the start of Legion when the writers literally axed off Vol’jin in such a disgustingly pathetic way to go heap narrative importance unto Sylvanas while actively taking away importance from Vol’jin the entire way to his passing.

Ok, then stop trying to scapegot me as a member of the Sadfag hippie club. Believe me, I didn’t care too much for his portayal in BfA either. The entire expansion was essentially a pick-your-poison simulator the whole way through.

“Reap what I’ve sown?” I DIDN’T WRITE THIS DUMBASS STORY!!!

If I had it my way, Vol’jin wouldn’t have died on the Broken Shore, Sylvanas would not be Warchief, and BfA would never have happened. Instead we’d all be having friendly discussions about how awesome this Old God expansion is, how Sylvanas is incredibly valuable against the forces of void, how Saurfangs’ story comes full circle(entered the greater narrative fighting 1st Old God we encounter/dies fighting the last), and how great of a Warchief Vol’jin is.

Hell, I’d love to reap what I’ve sown, except I DIDN’T SOW ANYTHING.

My individual in-game choices had no impact upon the outcome of a story that had already been planned literally years in advance according to the devs.

All of them. Sylvanas? Evil nutjob. Nathanos? Evil nutjob with kicked puppy issues regarding Sylvanas. Jaina? Angry but I “forgive the Horde for the most absurd reason” for the 47th time in a row. Anduin? full shonen anime hero with clear self insert issues (I mean the guy is ALWAYS right and the narrative breaks itself to make him look good and “apealling” to fulfill classic religious moralistic BS). Tyrande? irrational inmature teenager with anger issues. Genn? literal lapodog of a teenager for no apparent reason. Baine? “the Heart of the Horde” with zero actual moral background whatsoever (apparently burning alive a whole buch of civilians or watching your own troops disolve in blight is “meh, not worthy of getting myself in trouble”, but one mere undead male being treated harshly -who coincidentally is family of his Alliance female bestie, go figures- is surely too inmoral to stan) Lor´themar? fangirling Baine, nuff said. Rokhan? still not relevant enough to get his own model, but all applaud the walking troll meme (Zekhan) getting it before him!!.

Need more examples?

you cant boomer me back when you’re the one boomering ma’am

Girl, Disney literally destroyed Star Wars in December. Just like HBO did with “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

I swear, is like an epidemy that bam!! attacked American writers or something. So many bad writting in huge media made by companies swimming in money, it´s quite absurd tbh.

It depends. I do despise his involvement with the whole Sadfang fiasco, and also I´m aware a novel is not a good enough media to improve and polish his characterization in regards to the bulk of the playerbase (I know I sound like a broken record, but again: Lor´themar, nuff said.)

I got called an histerical woman quite literally, tyvm. Looks who´s laughing (and crying too, while at it) now. I was right after all.

Man, if you “view” of the Horde is any iteration of “qqqq only muh munster Hurde can be Hurde, other aesthetics not allowed cause muh spikes!!!” then I´m sorry, but you kinda asked for it. The most beautiful aspect about the Horde is how INCLUSIVE it is. Is how races were made to bond to each other not for the regular reasons (similar tastes, similar beliefs, similar cultural background) but instead of them; the Horde races bonded overcoming that different cultural, religious and aesthetical backgrounds and that´s simply a hopeful, positive and wonderful message. That you can make allegiances and even friendships with people no matter where they came from.

Anyone with some modicum of wariness did, only the very optimistic people didn´t see the Sylvanas villain beating coming (I hoped that Kosak would protect his waifu, but he left and well… here we are, right?). Both Vol´jin AND Sylvanas were done dirty, and believe me, she isn´t the one reaping the benefits. Thge one reaping the benefits is the male self insert of Christie Golden.

Sorry if you got offended, but I didn´t see you choosing “f** them both, Sadfang AND Sylvanas” either. Like some of us did.

Unfortunately, we all did man. By proxy of choosing a side and validating one path, we did reap what we sow. Some of us just aknowledged this was a disaster while doing it, and didn´t pretend one poison was less harmful than the other. Both were poison. Both deadly to the narrative of the Horde, period.

Uhhhh… all buildings are some type of mudhut at the end (I mean technically mud is the source of the metal and cement and all those other fancy stuff we build things with so…)

And if BfA proved anything is that trees are a hazard waiting to happen in regards to housing!!

It´s quoting Driver from that infamous SNL episode too rude?

What if the writers are mudhuts? Hmmm?

Honestly just kick Elves and Undead off the Horde and replace them with mudhuts and the story will be fixed. Are the writers listening?
