to keep it brief, I joined this server Netherwind for 2 reasons:
1.) it was medium pop, not high pop, and
2.) a decent horde/alli balance. like supposedly 55/45 horde
and now, with the server transfers, it’s become more like 70/30 alli, and server wait times, which was not the case a month ago.
So what the heck. Now I am seriously considering rerolling on another server. Not impressed. Server transfers was a bad idea.
Yeah. I have no good thoughts about server transfers, tbh.
Blizzard has shown repeatedly that they don’t care enough to take preemptive measures to avoid situations like this sadly.
Sorry to hear about your server 
As I’ve said on this forum before we (Earthfury) got tons of Incendius horde transfers and you (Netherwind) got tons of Incendius alliance transfers. Meanwhile, the Incendius population has plummetted. So, we have three servers that were changed pretty much overnight when introducing layering earlier would have fixed the problems.
We went from medium pop 60% alliance 40% horde to high pop 55% horde 45% alliance. We had queues and then layering for a while and still are not allowing transfers anymore. I don’t mind the people who transferred these days but I was happy with the server pre-transfer and it felt more like a Vanilla server.
No Blizzard doesn’t seem to care much so this kind of thing will continue.

-> Blizz moves them to our humble earthfury forcing us to be the new Incendius
-> Blizz says “welp tranfers didnt work” sorry about your server, oh and here’s layering. PEACE.
At least they took measures to cap EF’s population and give you relief from queues.
Those of us that went Incendius -> Netherwind are quite literally facing the fact that our server is becoming Incendius 2.0. At this rate we’re just 1.5 weeks away from Blizz offering us free transfers off the realm due to horrendous queue times.
For real though, Blizz waiting until after we all left Incendius to say “Well, seems like free transfers don’t work so here’s layering again” was one of the more infuriating moves that the company has made.
If you’ve already gotten to level 53, why not just pay $25 to go to any (non-locked) server you want rather than reroll and spend days of played time getting back to the same place?
we could…and then in a month have the low to medium pop sever we chose get inflated with more transfers from the ones that are locked currently with over 10 pops and have queues? its the only reason i haven’t decided to move to yet a third server. i’ve barely logged in this week to even level my hunter and only logged in to get buffs for raid and immediately logged off after. the game brings absolutely no joy anymore in the last month.
Why pay anything? I’d rather give my money to some other company than give it to the one that directed people to a nice medium pop server and killed it. Several times.
Instead of getting $25 per character they can lose $15 a month.
I think this is the only reasonable solution, just look for another game company to do business with.
Things probably won’t change unless enough people do this.
Will things change though? Since Cata WoW’s been on a steady decline yet instead of changing their path they continually double down on their bad ideas.
At some point we just have to accept that this is what Blizzard is now, and not even people leaving by the millions is going to change that.
I also suspect with stuff like Diablo Mobile coming out they actually don’t care because MMOs are pennies in profit compared to mobile games packed with MTs.
