Would someone be kind enough to explain to me how nether walk works once you’ve press the ability. And what I’m trying to understand is how incoming damage works or should work once ability has been pressed.
I came back to the game about a week and a half ago or so and I noticed that when I press another walk, sometimes it doesn’t work or when I press another walk I’m still taking incoming damage, a few times died post using the ability.
So, for example, if you use the ability at 5% health, but there’s still incoming damage that’s spell damage because of spell stacking do you still take that damage even though you push the button?
Additionally, why do roots still get applied after you’ve pushed another walk? I don’t understand that one either.
If you press Netherwalk you will become immune to damage and move faster. You will also become unable to attack.
ONLY damage. Nothing else.
You are NOT immune to receiving status effects.
So for example, if you netherwalk through one of the rings on smolderon you will be immune to the damage, but you will still receive the DoT. Once netherwalk wears off that can kill you.
Additionally, some addons and settings allow you to end the ability early by pressing the same button. I personally use this if I want to soak something or take a hit but I don’t need to sit there for another few seconds doing no damage. So I press netherwalk, immune the hit, and then drop it so I can continue attacking. Some people accidentally cancel netherwalk immediately as a result of this, so make sure you understand how your individual setup works.
You can also be stunned, feared, etc while netherwalk it active. It does NOT act like Paladin’s bubble which gives you complete immunity. Netherwalk is only damage immunity.

I know how the spell works, it’s not working correctly. Here’s an example, see screen shot. I press netherwalk at 1.6seconds and still take several hundred thousand damage and die through it.
