I agree. Which is why they should be much more considerate of when they have lightning in a bottle and not dismantle it based on a really misguided philosophy.
For visibility I’m going to paste this from the other Arcane Mage thread/AT discord here. Credit goes to Porom but we really do need a replacement for what Aethervision tried to fix.
Aethervision: Allows the last stack of Nether Precision to affect multiple spells if used within 0.5 seconds.”
If Blizzard is looking for a convenient way to replicate double dipping gameplay, this is how it would be done. It’s concise to fit in a tool tip, it’s easy enough to understand, can’t be easily exploited due to the GCD incurred by all of acane’s other spells, and replicates the double dipping gameplay. It’s even a logical node after Nether precision in the talent tree. Arcing cleave could move to intuition, and intuition could be removed.
It can’t be double dipped with 2 barrages in a row, as the GCD prevents this from happening. It needs a spell to be queued immediately after (or during) arcane blast to benefit from this, which replicates the double dipping. It does even have POM interactions as well, which would make that talent the slightest bit interesting for the first time this expansion.
Again, just buffing arcane barrage’s damage does nothing to it’s gameplay. It will still need calculators to figure out when to barrage. The APL may be a confusing string and need a TASbot to play to play optimally. Spellslinger still suffers from not barraging as it greatly loses splinter generation.
We need something beyond numbers to make arcane feel fun.
What Blizzard needs to do is continue to follow the path it took in the last few changes, of moving away from tying our entire core set to Arcane Blast, while strengthening abilities like Arcane Barrage, Arcane Missiles, and Arcane Orb, which are key pieces to stepping up our main characteristic, which is mobility.
Extremely tone deaf to not hear this feedback and do something.
Every suggestion is valid and should be taken into consideration in the end, as it comes from people who also pay for this game.
Those who have the power in their hands for change must always weigh the suggestions and take forward those that best fit.
