I just received the mount and noticed that this time, animators didn’t even care to add a new animation to the store mount…it’s the same used by Abyssal Worm, Mail muncher,Riddler’s mind worm…not even a special particles or anything…
Most of the WoW mounts share skelleton but usually for store mounts the /mountspecial adds something different compared to other mounts with same RIG.

Definitely must’ve been a rushed project on their end. Compared to some of their more recent mounts, like you mentioned… this one seems quite lackluster based off the animations and actual uniqueness it possesses.
I think it’s fine, but I also prefer the shorter mountspecials compared to the longer ones that wander away from its spot that many of the premium ones have.
Maybe my theory/joke that it was originally gonna be a Belf quest reward is true. They decided last minute it was nice enough for the store, and slapped a green hawkstrider in the game instead. 
I guess the devs sat around in the Cosby suite and had a few too many drinks before making up silly and innapropriate names for flying mounts.
That make sense.

Players get a free mount and then complain about it, sounds like the usual GD thread.
It’s “free” for some if you’re using a 6month sub but at the end it’s another product added to the store for any other user to buy, so yeah, I like to complain that the first small detail that i checked has the same animation from previous iterations of the same RIG.
My guess is it was meant for the recent blood elf quest chain but either wasn’t done in time or some one decided it looked too good so it had to go to the cash shop instead. And once that decision was made they stopped working on it to make the reskinned hawkstrider we got.
But, eh, whatevs. It’s a free mount. I’m not going to complain.
If you don’t like it then don’t use it, there’s like 600 more to choose from 
It’s not free. You have to pay either $78 for 6 months or $25 for the mount itself.
I never said that i don’t like it, I just mentioned that there’s something missing compared to similar products
If you don’t like it then don’t buy it, or save money on your sub by doing 6 months at a time and get it for free.
You are being very black and white about this. No the real solution is they should add a mount special, like they do for all store mounts. It’s not hate of the entire thing to want improvements.
I don’t know why people get so bent out of shape over requests and think that everything is absolute hatred now.
I think it’s funny that you think they will add something like that post-release. You’re better off asking that the next one has unique animations, as they won’t go back and modify it now.
They’ve added things post release before. They changed mount animations on a number of mounts and made some of them so they could fly. In both BFA and this expac. So why would this be different?

Would be neat if the mount special had something to do with the blood elf racial. In the belf starting zone we had to dispatch a few to learn it.
