Tried killing him on +8. Never had issue before. But this time he was one shotting peopel randomly the death recount said “ritual of bones” no matter what even if ritual of bones wasn’t up. I died suddenly as healer nowhere near his shockwave or beam attack and no bones up and the kill thing said “ritual of bones”. We tried 7 times. We had ~10 minutes on the clock when we got to him. Not only did we fail to time it we just failed. He would bring ilvl ~380-390 folks down in literally 1 second if not less. I could not heal it. People were dying with me popping emerald communion and rewind.
Is he bugged right now?? the rest of the dungeon we had no issue. I’ve run him before and had no issue. Like it was mathematically impossible to heal. Even with me using the most potent heals it would only slightly delay the massive damage people took even while nowhere near the AoEs/
The trail behind ritual of bones is a lot longer than it seems, make sure people stay in the space they cleared (between the parallel lines of death zone) before moving on.
Is it so long that it also lasts after the skeletons despawn on the other side? Because we were dying with no skeletons on field.
If you touch the tail after the line, it leaves a debuff on you that doesn’t one shot, but will eventually kill you.
That’s why it might look like the “ritual isn’t up” but someone died from it.

The debuff is a DOT (damage over time) that lasts for a while, so yes theoretically you could run through the death zone, get the DOT on you, and then die after the skeletons despawn.
Maybe that’s what happened. I don’t know. The trial must be massive because we aren’t touching the shadows at all. I have to move out of malevolence and the beam attack and then die from the trial th at is like 5 times longer than the visual implies. So apparently dying to nothing. So much damage my cds can’t cope…
We were doing so good. Only reason we had 10 minutes on timer was cuz tank got dc’d and took a few min to get back in. We had no wipe, 1 death. And then only 1 wipe because of tank dc. It was almost flawless. And then dying from seemingly invisible bad on the last boss that I physically could not heal through
It’s just so frustrating to do good and then boom invisible bad kills you over and over again.
The trail is quite large, yes. So much as dipping into its hitbox will apply the debuff, and it is quite likely to just kill you.

We didn’t touch the trail’s spell animation and it still killed us. Cuz it hits you when invisible apparently… idk how we can be having an effortless time and then get destroyed by mechanics we’ve had no issue with before.
It goes beyond the spell effects to some degree. What that degree is I’m not entirely sure.
The solution is just not to risk your positioning, be where is definitely safe, not dubiously safe.
