Nerfing the only fun healer in mythic+ is a mistake

Disc is the most common healer for a reason because all the other healers need help. We already have to sit in LFG forever trying to get a healer.

Give preservation an actual good DPS rotation or something for crying out loud. Living flame spam is so boring and rsham mana needs work. Resto Druid feels fine but it’s not easy for beginners like disc is

No disc absolutely has been too dominant for too long. In fact the class priest itself is over represented in a lot of m+ seasons. It seems like they almost always have a meta spec.

“Takes forever to get a healer,” have you tried inviting pres/mw/hpriest? I’m sure they applied but have you tried inviting them? If the answer is no then I think disc needs nerfed more. The most popular form of end game content deserves to be open to the most amount of people, not the most exclusive min-maxers. If the problem lays in the dungeons then blizz needs to fix the dungeons and if it lays on the classes/specs then they need to be balanced. Priest is too dominant and has been for way too long.

I have most success with disc. It’s how every healer should feel

This creates a scenario where people either have to play a class/spec that isn’t their main or stop playing m+ entirely. For many people M+ is the only reason to keep playing the game after the first patch. It’s the main re-playable form of end-game content left to grind after raid and me, and a lot of people I’ve encountered or befriended, don’t even like to raid we just like m+ and its the main reason to play. I enjoy a variety of things like mount farming and out of bounds exploration and lore theorizing but these are like side quests, m+ is the main gameplay loop that keeps the game interesting.

A single spec that’s too dominant and leads the community to gate-keeping this highly sought after end-game content is bad for the game in general. Blizz let is slide in season one much to the distaste of many people that in combination with the overwhelming nature of the dungeons bled players from this form of content if not the game. So much so blizzard made big changes for the s2 ptr versions of these dungeons and has continued tuning. If you had it your way you would be wondering “why is m+ dead?” Like so many asked mid-late s1. I even just made a post in the monk forums today contemplating dropping out for the tier because of this specific issue. I stuck it out in season one, I had /played like 50 days “at this level,” from s1 and 90% were spent in m+ alone. Whether or not everyone else did we all hoped s2 would be different and this is one of those changes a lot of us want to see. Better distribution of classes/specs and to open up the game to more players.

I think the changes to disc aren’t far enough. We’ll have to see but blizzard also now needs to address Hpal and Rdruid. I’m glad with what they’ve done for holy priest.

Healers should not be gods amongst peasants capable of preventing intentionally lethal mistakes.

Shields being the focus of a spec’s healing toolkit has been a mistake every single time it’s been implemented.

Sometimes someone dies and it’s not your fault, it’s theirs, and that’s fine.

Yes, because people follow meta and decline every non-disc.

It’s a self-inflicted issue.

Was the game irreparably broken when we had variety in for DF S1, Holy paladin was at the top in DF S2, Resto Druid for DF S3/S4?

It was indeed a mistake nerfing Resto Druid damage by 20% prior to this season going live. Resto Druid is the “fun” class it has the steepest learning curve of all the heal specs and offers the most rewarding game play once you become proficient in cat or owl weaving. Disc has been the spec for brain dead people who just want an easy ride for a substantial amount of time.

No, don’t think so.

Damage is extra, but healing wise? nah.

Resto druid is the easiest healer.

For the majority of people doing M+, any healer is fine. Let’s be real here, most people aren’t doing above 10s.

As to going higher than 10. Until about 15, they do fine there as well. People just bandwagon and that’s not the fault of Blizzard

Every healer has it’s own unique flavor on how to heal, Rdruids are hot specialists, PresVoker are burst specialists, Mistweaver monks sit kinda in the middle of this spectrum & can be melee heals if played well enough.

Currently PresVoker is a favorite in M+s for me :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

By that logic all the combat rezzes need to go as well.

Disc is broken right now. In other words the spec should not be performing the way they are in m+. I have screenshots of a long list of declines and delisted groups because the party leader choose disc over resto shaman when there’s a choice.

lol welcome to every tank this season who had to roll VDH.
Luckily, blizz has done this crap long enough that I can now just switch between tanks each season if they dumpster the one I like.

Then they will need to nerf VDH, big time, because this is the only tank people want for 13s and up, they have immortality mitigation and insane cc. They will also need to nerf balance druid, because of the big damange and aoe interrupts, it’s one of the 3 dps classes that will be only invited in 13s and up. They will also need to nerf DKs, because of the big damage and ability to constantly group problematic mobs it’s one of 3 of the dps classes only invited in 13s and up. And they will need to nerf mage, because of the big damage, ccs, and lust, it’s one of 3 of the only dps invited in 13s and up.

Finally, if they want disc priests to not be so dominant, they need to chill on the insane heal checks for every pack and every boss. It’s the only consistent healer in 13s and up because they prevent damage, instead of heal back damage. Hpriest can’t hack it in 12s, because they don’t have externals. Shammy can’t hack it in 14s bc they dont have externals, monks can’t hack it in 13s bc they can’t keep up with constant aoe healing at the same time as single target healing. Resto druid is the only other healer that is in a decent state, but still can’t compete with disc priest.

If they nerf disc priests for the sake of other healers, they will need to add to dungeon timers so that they don’t REQUIRE pulling entire rooms to time a key.

Blizz said they wanted to change the M+ “meta” environment, but this season they made it far worse, and each tuning pass where they’ve cut timers or failed to nerf certain dungeons, they’ve made playing meta even more necessary.

12, 13, 14… rewards are done by then. Disc isn’t overpowered at 10 and IO/Ilvl are bigger factors than class in invites up to that point. Classes shouldn’t be balanced around title chasers.

Actually, they should because it only has a positive effect on the game.

Blanket infinite scaling just eventually causes so much to break down.

Even basic things like how blood DKs function at a basic level.

I have a disc and I have a misty. I have way more fun on the misty, because I can actually throw stops, kicks, etc while I am keeping everyone alive.

Disc is fun enough, sure, but the lack of kick and reliable stops drives me nuts (being able to throw PI around is a joy tho)

a … “misty?” okay i kinda like this nick name LOL
