Nerf warden of souls torghast boss

I don’t think i need to explain why, it’s pretty obvious

I’m more interested in why any human being with a responsibility of delivering a proper gaming experience knowing full well people pay monthly to play, thought this was okay. And why after months of testing, he hasn’t been nerfed yet?

It’s impossible to beat solo. There’s a difference between Challenge and downright insanity

I don’t know why, explain.

Seems alright to me.

Considering I got all 3 layers of all available Torghast done solo on my DH who was equipped with normal / heroic dungeon gear…

Get good?

it’s impossible to solo

Millions who already cleared it disagree

Sorry, its not impossible. Many have done it multiple times. So you do need to explain. Hyperbole undercuts your point.

What issues are you having?

While I agree that OP is exaggerating a bit, the tuning on Torghast is a little weird. It goes from faceroll easy on floors 1-5 to suddenly hard on floor 6. The jump in difficulty is really jarring.

absolutely agree with that boss needing a nerf. that, and whatever his name is, the devourer. gruxol or something. gruxol especially since he’s actually impossible in a group due to the absorb mechanic.

i still can’t wrap my mind around how the atrocious scaling in this works. last week, we were a brewmaster, holy priest and marksman and were fine. annoyances here and there, but…this week. wow. solo is simply not a thing i can do. i’m too squishy and my powers are mostly useless. 2-3 people have a generally annoying time as usual, but it feels way worse.

the bosses especially…they are borderline unbeatable to unbeatable. i guess the first week was the bait, and this is the switch.

what even are the factors that determine the scaling?
-number of players (yes)
-layer (i don’t really know. 3, yes, but 2 doesn’t seem right for being the middle ground)
-whether or not there’s a healer or tank (don’t know)
-ilvl (it seems so, which further makes progression meaningless)

then, you still need to worry about if you get any worthwhile powers, what sorts of enemies there are and whether or not it generates a boss that can actually be defeated. roguelike/lite done completely incorrectly.

Tried it tonight. Ilvl 168 affliction warlock. Couldn’t do it. I got absolutely heinous powers too. Can’t take out the adds quick enough and they just wreck my face. Tried ignoring the adds and I got him down to about 40% when I stayed too far for them to target me, but then I can’t heal my pet or refresh my dots. Who knows.

Lol have u tried to kill the ghoul its quite a pain if u get bad Power.

I had issues with it fresh 60 on my rogue. Our crimson vial sucks horribly bad and he dishes out quite a bit of damage if you’re not in optimal stats. Which I wasn’t as I had just finished leveling. It took creating all of the 151 pieces from leatherworking, one of the new oils from alchemy, health pots and better torghast abilities than i got on my first run to be able to down him… and then I did barely.

For something that is to be completed not long after you ding, yes I agree it is badly tuned.

What I’ve learned from this week’s hardest layers, is that doing it with just 2 people (tank +DPS) is the way to go. I tried with a full team and it’s just plain nasty. Both towers down with less then 2 deaths … I think it is a success.

It is tough. I had to FD about 10 times before I got her. iLvL 167. MM.

The key for me? Patience at the beginning while making sure I interrupt the fear (to ensure her adds are all clustered together), when adds spawned, I went commando on them, then I was a bit lucky…killed boss with one “Kill Shot” due to ability selected.

Honestly, my item level 191 Outlaw can’t solo this guy on layer 1 room 12 in twisting corridors.

He calls up adds as soon as I kill them. I can stave off the first wave with my kidney punch stun but that has a 20 sec cool down. So after 5 secs he leaves stun calls up another wave. I use my grappling hook to move around the area trying to buy time for crimson vial’s insane 30 sec cool down. (Which only heals me 20% over 4 seconds, so the inital heal is around 1.4k) Blade flurry+Blade Rush doesn’t do nearly enough damage to the adds, especially since they’re spread out. So I have to single target them to nuke them, by that point the Warden has already called a second group. I’ve also got to kite the boss away from his pool of power.

I’m taking 1/3 of my health in damage every time I get hit by the warden. If he crits me I’m at 10%hp. Soul Fragments hit me for 10% of my health and there are 3 of them, eventually more when they stack since I can’t kidney shot/gouge stun the Warden forever. Again I can only heal every 30 seconds up to 20% of my hp over 4 seconds.

This is soloable for hero classes like DK or DH who just sit there and self heal like crazy, but it’s crazy difficult for rogues who are uber squishy and don’t have the luxury to attack from afar like other squishy DPS classes.

“Hurr durr im going to make a thread to complain about a thing but I wont tell anyone what the problem is”

Great thread.

I mean, if you took the time to read the thread, you’d see there are problems with the boss. Especially with squishy DPS classes.

You’re right, I should read an entire thread to know what the OP is complaining about when he could take 30 seconds to just type it. Quality higher brain function you have going on.

Buddy, you clicked on the thread. You got invested enough to post about it. So I’d say OP did his job. He got engagement about a topic he cared about.
