This is worse than SL BDK and BFA PWarr… So much utility and survivability and damage, its just sillyness.
Simplest fix. Change the sigals to only have 1 charge on utility spells. 2 for dps spells.

Wouldn’t surprise me that they’re saving the tank changes/balance for TWW. Changing the sigil gameplay for dhs would affect their current tier set choice and would probably feel pretty bad even if I agree that they’re definitely in the nerf range.
and yet YOU still wouldn’t be able to time a 20 with it last season or a 10 this season in it’s state

VDH itself is fine. The problem is the caster meta. Paladin is pretty much on the same level as VDH except chaos brand meta causes that to shift towards VDH.
Be assured VDH will be nuked from orbit in TWW the way BDK was nuked for most of DF.
Just change silence, chains, and misery to 1 charge. Problem solved.

I was fully convinced when I played HOI for the first time that they only tested the trash in it on VDH. Silence and aoe stun buys you roughly 10 seconds of healer reprieve for nearly every pack before the first boss…I’m not even getting into using chains and fear here too. At a certain point you don’t even need to be in melee anymore, you can just start leaping to the next pack and locking that down too.
Prot warrior has shock wave for 3 seconds and an aoe silence they can use twice on average in that entire gauntlet that we rarely talent into anyway.
Take the sigils down to 1 charge and those harder pulls are still bonkers with VDH, the tools are that strong. It’s not just utility, it’s utility plus mitigation, plus healing, plus damage, plus mobility. They keep all those other boxes checked still if you take away a few sigil casts per dungeon? I don’t even know how you knock them down a peg tbh.
Not even worth playing Prot Warrior with how busted VDH are.
No, it is not. A VDH can shut down a group for nearly half a minute. They also do substantially more damage. The synergy with casters is just the icing on the top.
Some casters having uncapped AoE is another problem that needs to be looked at, but it is a separate issue.
The tank meta has never been this oppressive. It’s literally skill draining the population because dps are able to just blast and not worry about stops at all.
Unless we’re moving to a state where all tanks can just handle all the stops and dps just have to blast, VDH control needs to be nuked from orbit.

They intentionally left dh imbalanced in an effort to force people to reroll, and thus, keep people playing longer. That’s my take.
