Nerf to tank self sustain, can we get a DPS increase?

If we are going to nerf self sustain, and I understand the reasoning, can we bring back vengeance like cata? Let Tanks actually do some damage?

I’m still trying to figure out if these changes are a good thing and bad players are spazzing out, or if it’s a bad thing and good players are spazzing out because they will have less chances to brag about healing and dps meters.

Raising the required skill floor for tanks and healers is definitely going to make for fun forum threads at least.

I am good with healers healing and not needing to dps, let healers do their job and let tanks do more damage at this point to offset it.

I literally posted this exact same thread, so naturally I agree.

Ha, I didnt see it, but great minds think alike

Tanks are tanks. Not healers or DPS. You’re not there to top charts.

Alright then, well, enjoy waiting for the queues. Nobody is asking them to be top dps, but if you are taking away their sustain, making them softer, at least let them hit a bit harder than they currently do.

Already do! Thanks. Won’t change anything.

Have you played cata? Queues dont seem too bad there. Wonder why…???

I’ve played every expansion. Queues have been about the same since queues became a thing. There hasn’t been a substantial variation in any period as far as I’ve been able to tell.

Right now healers are tuned to do about 30-40% damage of a dps if they go all out, less in some cases, and they have eaten an overwhelming number of nerfs throughout dragonflight. Tanks are tuned to do 50-60%, all we’re asking for is that if the role they exist for is going to get kneecapped that they unnerf the amount of damage they do, and it is definitely a nerf because they both did more damage in WoD.

In any meaningful challenging content, they don’t, and didn’t.
This isn’t going to stop ungabunga ubergeared players from swapping to tank spec and rolling an entire dungeon, in fact. That’s literally just being overgeared (which non-tank specs can also do)
If you think these changes will slow down normal/heroic/TW, you’re completely wrong.
These changes do absolutely nothing to the bottom end while completely shattering the top into pieces.

They are also reducing overall tank dps by 75% to maintain balance.

Nope in WoW only DPS do respectable damage Healers and Tanks do not if you’ve got a problem with that FFXIV exists :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

as long as tank is fun to play :frowning:

I haven’t been keeping up with this news, so… does this mean once again prot warriors are going to be awful when playing solo again? I’m not exactly keen to go back to the pre-MoP days to be honest.

We getting a 60% hp increase. The nerfs aren’t even that impactful if at all.

But the percentage-based healing is being cut. In theory, though you have more health, you’re getting less healing (percentage wise) per cast.

So, it makes mistakes more punishing and harder to recover from.
