Nerf to AS on the PTR

It looks like after the nerf to AS on the ptr, u actually do more damage with triple Spiteful traits and NO AS. Versus with AS and triple spiteful.

https: //imgur. com/a/kdl5wCa Tested it normal pve mobs v the pvp training dummy i did first. As well as players but didnt want to add to sshot. It all comes out the same. If u are running triple spiteful no actual point to use AS

Maybe its too early and my coffee has not kicked in yet BUT that link just go to a google search of this post.

Remove the space after https. Not level 3 :{

That’s interesting! Honestly I would love to use shadow crash or death again in a main raid spec.

Yea running triple app in every situation unless its nerfed there is actually no point to AS now. Been testing Shadow crash on live and boy have i missed it.

This is due to the hidden 75% damage modifier on Spiteful traits when you don’t have AS talented (they added this in back early in 8.1 so having access to spiteful wouldn’t skyrocket AS’s value).

The point of AS post nerf is the insanity gen, but yes with the nerfs it takes quite a few targets (I believe 3+ permanent unstacked targets) for AS to beat scrash, and even then its only by a small amount and its quite behind on focus fire damage.

That being said, you likely won’t be running 3 SA at any point next tier (there are two raid azerite with CoI/whisper, CoI/SA that have an OP on them which makes them super strong). Since you have whisper on your chest, you would just go for a CoI/SA shoulder and only end up with 2, which gives AS a little more value.

Once sims are done with essences we’ll know more.

I actrually really want to be able to use SWD. I hope that will be our go to talent next patch. Or better yet make it baseline again. So annoying they made it a talent.

Yea i know about the modifier. and im more into pvp so i have little value in Chorus or whisper

Actually, kind of sad to have to go back to shadow crash. I just find a slow, ground-targeted spell to be awkward to use. It really breaks up the flow of the rotation, along with the risk of the mobs being kited out of it, especially due to how slow it is. Unfortunately, Blizz isn’t competent enough to have more than one talent per row be good at the same time.

It is so idiotic that Blizzard nerfed the dots and AS to limit our strength on multi dot AoE scenarios, but doing so forces us into an AoE ground target ability for all content, even single target.

It shows how out of touch Blizzard class balancers are.

Fine with me, I prefer SW:D anyway for executions. Wasn’t a fan of being pushed into a talent that’s just a buff to a passive ability doing my damage for me.

The problem is SW:D still looks to be the weakest of the 3. If you are going for highest damage you will have to go SC, even on single target.

pve shadow crash most likely will be best but pvp . SWD was already used often in arena and in rbgs now its a tie between SWD and crash> Crash will do more damage but SWD is prob just as useful if not more on EFC maps especially
