NERF SHAMANS - Support

No amount of cope is going to hide the fact that shaman are grossly overpowered. More so than anything else in SoD has ever been. More than P1 hunters (which got nerfed repeatedly).

Once there is a counter to Divine Shield, I will accept minor adjustments to Shamans. Unfortunately, people who play Paladins almost universally have a blind spot to their absolutely overpowered ability (not to mention all their other utility). It’s 12 seconds of complete immunity with no reduction in mobility or damage. I lost count of how many times a single Paladin has cost us an AB because they held the flag against 7+ Horde while reinforcements arrived or the team resssed. It’s broken and there are rarely fewer than 4 Paladins in every AB. You will not be satisfied until Alliance is winning more AB than Horde. I’m sorry, but “balance” doesn’t mean you have a 50/50 win rate. There are other variables like skill, teamwork, and team makeup.

Except attack speed is slowed tremendously and it’s on a 5 min cooldown lmao. is this the hordes best counter argument to Shamans being OP? At least put some effort into one. This aint it.

Buddy you have 3 blinks, Ice block cold snap crazy aoe and a million spells to counter a paladin bubble this is the least of this games problem. All casters are cooked right now sit trees blasting people racking up 20 coins per stv.

Do you think Mage is all I play? Do you really want to get into an argument about how severely nerfed we were when PvP experiments were going on (and will be again when they become permanent)? You started this argument talking about Shamans and now you’re pivoting to Mages because I’m posting on one? How about you focus on addressing the overpoweredness of Paladins first. Even with a 5-minute CD, it’s broken. And again, it is never just one Paladin in an AB.

I didn’t pivot you did by talking about paladins bubble which made no sense as OP was talking about shamans… I simply said that is the least concerning thing in this game. Lets stay focused on the real problem instead of paladins “bubble” which has been in this game since 2004.

nerfing shams isnt gonna change as much as you think bg wise.

if heals are actually good the only classes scoring kills are mm hunts and boomies.

IF ppl using the in-game environment to outplay is a problem to you, you’re saying you don’t LoS?

Also, ever wonder why they’re in trees in the first place? because melee have an insane amount of gap-closing and lock-down kit with the ability to global.

What type of fried bull sheeet take is this? Yeah 5 shamans clearing out teams with 1 chain lightning at the blood turn in is fried as helll. they might as well be multi boxing. How about we provide positive feed back for the devs to fix instead of these bunk a*s comments for the sake of commenting. Man I swear you are a Dev on his alt account with this type of feedback.

I mean if they nerf ele shamans or enh shamans, both of which overperform it really won’t fix the bg landscape.

MM hunters, spriest , and boomkins will still oppress every bg at every turn.

The reality is, and I made a post on this.

World buffs plus windfury in classic, make melee scale infinitely better than casters or ranged* in pve.

The devs see casters aren’t doing well so they BUFF their damage in pve. Instead of adjusting pve mob armor, removing or adjusting world buffs, or adding a unique pve mechanic.

When you are in pvp you don’t exist in a world of stand still parse fights, full raid buffs, and definitely not world buffs for long if it all.

So what has the balance done, well you have shifted gross amounts of base power to casters so they can be competitive in a min maxed environment that just doesn’t simply translate to PvP.

We have chimera shots hitting for near 3k (someone had the Imgur in a post around here somewhere I’m Sure this was a unique circumstance but the ability can regularly crit for sub 2k before the damage nerf as an instant cast)because we buffed the abilities and gave HUNDREDS of attack power to marksmen hunter. Sure they needed this for pve but this has created a massive PvP imbalance.

We gave shadow priests flat percent damage bonus to dots and another flat damage bonus aura to shadow form.

We gave boomkins another 10% flat damage bonus on natural weapons and made omen proc from casting spells

We absolutely cooked ele and gave them 200 spellpower and 5 target flameshock with 100% bonus damage and 18 second duration being one of the strongest single global damage buttons in the entire game.

Enhance. Well I have an entire write up x1000 on this but tldr ; enhance should have mimicked storm build from retail and been a physically augmented spec not a full melee mage god. It should have been 2h from the beginning because classic imbues were and will never be balanced for dual wield and the imbue logic is apparently too hard for the devs to fix fully since we are stuck with 5 minute imbues.

They CANNOT balance PvP and PvE until they address world buffs, raid buffs, and available consumables. Likely they won’t either. Just know when that if they keep making buffs based on pve, casters will win. I swapped from enh to ele in pvp and I regularly dominate EVERY GAME without anyone having a hope to do anything about it. It will get worse. Unless the above is addressed. Or if blizz decides to just let casters be worse in pve.
