Attempting the Nerf Scrapbots achievements in 10 man ulduar. Have tried (seems like) 50 times and failed. Failed very spectacularly with seldom more than 5 out of the 20 needed.
Any tips? Wowhead is not helping much, comments are too old. Snares don’t seem to work they just kill everything.
Seems like I am just too high level maybe? Do I need to start a character specifically for this? At 120 removing all gear I never take damage and can punch him to death in 4 shots. Seems like that should make this achievement easy but I cant seem to do it.

Hey mate don’t fret this is an almight RNG pain.
A couple of things:
IIRC you should be able to feign death to reset the encounter massively increasing your attempts. (I’m not sure about the feign death interaction with pets if they automatically do it or it needs a glyph.)
The positioning for this achievement is key I had him placed on the furthest pile away from you on the left hand side (as if you are facing him coming into the area). This will hopefully result in diagonal line of scrapbots and boombots running towards XT-002 Deconstructor which you can kite him over.
If you get too many “Junkbots” the larger robots I’d reset.
You can kill the boombots while near the scrapbtos which in turn kill the scrapbots which count towards the needed 20.
I’ll also link the video I used to get the achievement. As stated its just RNG and attempts. I hope this does help. Best of luck
