Nerf Mages. Enough is Enough

I’m so sick of seeing these mages casually trinket 3x DRd CC because they know they can’t die so who cares. How liberally mage’s use their trinket is a testament to how overtuned their kit is and I’m not talking about damage.

Give every mage spec ONE Ice Block that can be Purged. Mass Dispel and Shattering Throw being the only things that can take that off is stupid.

Make Alter Time a 2 minute cooldown.

Nerf their shields by 75%

Remove Shimmer

Remove Blinking out of stuns

Put Blink on the GCD.

Put Blast Wave and Displacement on a choice node

Remove Ice Form

Remove auto proc roots

Make their roots DR

Thats a bit harsh if I must say. Although seeing an Arcane mage blinking all around the map and losing all notion of where he actually is kinda funny.

Only if they remove all of monks mobility and defensives as well. Maybe we can just stand still and auto attack each other since that is your design direction

Really trying to get in those Sunday posts before Monday rolls around huh?

1 ice block cant be purge and Alter time 2min is good enough. I am surprised nobody complain about Pally with 20s forbearance and bubble while forbearance. You guy sure are good dealing with them.

I’ll do you one better. Delete mages awful class was a mistake to create them.

I genuinely think these changes would kill mage.

I think the best change to mage in pvp would be to make alter maybe 5s long and unpurgeable.

Mage needs to be targetable whatever change facilitates that I am for

liked for the gif really missing trust lvl 3 rn

I will do what I must

Blizzard never nerfs mages or rogues to a point where they are bad, they are like a parents favorite baby that gets preferential treatment.

Mage is still far superior to pally in my opinion. But I don’t really feel like either of them are really any better off them most other classes currently.

They are, just not by warrior lol

I feel a ton of ick playing into anything with a ‘do-over’ button. Ice block, Turtle (deterrence?), Pali bubble, to a far lesser extend AMS on such a short cooldown.

Your mistakes should be permanent, like all of mine are. Even when you can’t just ‘oopsie’ you still have an overwhelmingly obnoxious suite of defensives and interrupts and CC and micro CC. Mages don’t need all that, on top of a ‘nuh uh’ magic forcefield.

Also passive roots.

Maybe its a failing of design philosophy but I don’t particularly like knowing the next couple minutes are going to be spent whittling down your first health bar to then get started on your second until dampening or blind fortune do the job for me.

They do nerf Mages though, it’s called buffing MM Hunter.

The problem is, that mages have too many “gap wider” imo. For every mobility CD most melees have, you have 3 answers. Exception might be Feral and Outlaw, nobody can kite them. Or can mages?

But seriously, for what does a Frost Mage especially needs knock back or displace? They were already mobile enough with 3 blinks per 10 seconds and perma slow running.

When a mage currently can’t keep a Monk or Warrior away for 95% of the time, he is doing something terrible wrong, wasting all blinks to land a Poly or something.

That must include then, that he also can’t abort it anymore.
